It’s hard to find a unique, interactive piece of history you can walk through so easily! 😍

Gearrannan is still open to visit and experience as the school holidays approach - drop by Monday to Saturday, from 0930 - 1730.

As you enter our village you’ll find our cafe and shop in the first blackhouse, before moving through into the main village where you take a step back in time through our example blackhouse and museum exhibition.

There are also some beautiful views awaiting you as you reach the last blackhouse that leads down to the bay - a great spot whatever the weather!

Our fantastic cakes, shortbread and menu offerings are all freshly made by our talented staff on-site.

Our opening hours are 0930-1730, Monday to Saturday so pop by and treat yourself!

More happy visitors to our village that we spoke to recently.

This family from London made full use of our picnic tables on the mild August day they spent with us.

Late that same day, we had a nice chat with Naeem and safina, also up on the islands from London, who are doing a lengthy tour of the Highlands and Islands!
