We’re so sorry to say that we’ve had to close the café today 😢💕

Unfortunately, after ongoing power cuts throughout the night and again today, we’re unable to open safely 😔

We’re really hoping everything is resolved today so we can restock, reset and be back open as normal tomorrow! 🤞🏼☕️

A huge thank you to everyone who’s already tried to pop in today and has been so lovely and understanding — we really appreciate you 💕

We’ll keep you updated if anything changes! 🐾

How cute is our little book swap looking?! 🥹📚💕

There are always new books being added, so it’s definitely worth having a little nosey next time you’re in the café 👀✨

It’s completely free to use — if you spot a book you fancy, you’re more than welcome to take it! All we ask is that if you’ve got any books at home that no longer spark joy, bring them along next time and pop them on the shelf for someone else to discover 😁

And if your TBR pile is already slightly out of control but you still want to join in… you can always pop a little donation into one of our charity boxes instead 🤭💕

Hell yes 🙌

On Saturday 5th September at 12pm, we are getting on a treadmill in the taproom. It doesn't stop until 12pm on Sunday.

24 hours, non-stop, between the two of us with a bit of help from a few others. It's the last push before we take on the Race Across Europe in October, and every penny goes to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Shops. If you can spare anything to donate, now's the moment.

The taproom is open as usual and for a good chunk of the 24 hours. We have a DJ, a raffle, prizes and giveaways throughout. Come down for a pint and shout something unhelpful at us.

We're finishing the final hour on the road with an additional (very slow) run club. Run club meets at 11am on the Sunday as usual, sets off about quarter past, and does the normal 5k loop. One pace, our pace. A nice easy social 5k to see the last leg out. Anyone's welcome. You don't need to be quick, you just need to turn up.

We’re still supporting the incredible The Happy Mums Foundation 💛✨

We’ve got a few cute handmade crochet bits available to buy in the café, with 100% of the money raised going directly to Happy Mums 💕

There’s also still a donation box by the till if you’d like to pop in whatever you can. Every little bit helps, and if donating isn’t possible right now, even sharing their posts and helping spread the word can make a difference.

Come have a little look next time you’re in — the tiny mushroom and squishy cats are making it very hard not to take them home ourselves 😂🍄🐱

Good Morning! It’s a special post today as we’re celebrating someone’s birthday!

We’d all like to wish Chanelle a very happy birthday today! Some of you may recognise her from bringing piles of coffee cups back that Jabba stashes, or from next door in Get Pierced providing fantastic front of house service and piercings! She’s an incredibly helpful and funny person and has supported us in the cafe so much, we hope she knows just how much we love having her around!

The sun is shining and it’s looking like a beautiful day for coffee & a catch-up! 🌞☕️💕

Our outside seating is definitely the place to be on days like this — grab a coffee, find a sunny spot and have a proper catch-up with a friend 😁

We’ve also had a couple of lovely customers asking about accessibility recently, so just a little reminder that we do have a ramp available! 💕 We’re always more than happy to pop it out whenever it’s needed — just give us a shout in the cafe and we’ll get you sorted.

A little pause from our usual café shenanigans… 💛

Today we wanted to shine a light on an incredible local charity that’s helped so many mums over the years.

Sadly, The Happy Mums Foundation is at risk of closing.

For many of the mums who attend their groups, Happy Mums is the only mental health support they receive. In fact, 75% of the mums accessing their services aren’t receiving support from anywhere else.

We know times are tough for everyone right now, but if you’re in a position to donate—even the price of a coffee—it could make a real difference in helping them keep their doors open.

Mums spend so much of their lives looking after everyone else, and sometimes they need someone to look after them too. 💕

If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, sharing their posts and helping spread the word is just as valuable.

Let’s do what we can to support a charity that’s been supporting our community for so many years. 💛

Position Filled! 💕

A huge thank you to everyone who applied to join our little café!

We’ve had so many incredible applications, and we’re genuinely grateful to everyone who took the time to send us a CV. It wasn’t an easy decision, but we’re excited to say the position has now been filled, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest team member! ☕✨

And of course… Simone the seagull can’t wait to meet her new handlers 🐦😂
