A big year for us, losing Shop 1 in May was massive - but also so was the ability to focus on our deliveries.

We continued packing posting and selling delicious coffee from Wales' Widest Roster of Roasters! Folded in some new business friends to our wholesale deliveries and even delivered some wines!

We were visited by some wonderful humans over the last year and it was a pleasure to whip up some delicious coffee by the fire for you!

We're also hoping to add even more great independents to our wholesale business, and we'd love to know who you think we should be working with!

Looking forward to a new year, hoping to see even more of you, and deliver you some lovely stuff to your front doors.

Who knew that it’s actually tricky to stick wine labels on straight?!

IT’S CHRISTMAS COME EARLY 🍷🥳 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
(…though admittedly rather closer to Crimbo than anticipated)

The inaugural vintage of our very own Welsh Wine is now live on the Chilled & Tannin website!

Tastes like: Vibrant. Red Fruit. Black Current. Leafy. Earthy. Fun.

Sustainable - Low Intervention - Low Sulphites - Organic Practising - Vegan - Vegetarian

Our very own and a proper little gem from Wales, and a cracking debut at that. Blood sweat and tears went into this wine from us all. Hansel-Bâch 2024 comes from the inaugural vintage of a sunny Vale of Glamorgan vineyard, made with a light touch and a clear focus on drinkability.

A low-intervention red blending Rondo and Cabernet Cortis grown in Llanbethery, hand-picked and vinified by the brilliant Mountain People Wine over in Monmouthshire. Think light-bodied, juicy and full of charm rather than big and brooding. There’s fresh red berry fruit, a mouthwateringly herbal edge and just enough grip to keep things interesting.

This is the kind of red you happily chill for 20 minutes, crack open midweek, and suddenly realise the bottle’s disappeared far quicker than planned. Super gluggable, quietly characterful, and proudly Welsh.

Vegan-friendly, low SO₂, and made for good times rather than overthinking.

People thought we were mad planting a vineyard in South Wales, but something we and the monks from times gone by in Llancarfan knew otherwise.

Optional Serve: slightly chilled

Vibe: relaxed, modern, unfussy much like Rhod.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I need to share that we are closing our ‘Shop 1’…

After nearly 11 years in our little corner of the city - we are forced to submit to the economic pressures that are challenging so many businesses at present.

I’m pretty sad about it.

I would like to thank with all my soul the humans who have worked with me during early mornings, and late nights. Those who have helped me with crazy ideas or dirty jobs.

I thank the creative folk who displayed their ‘art in the bar’ on our big wall - always making the shop interesting, colourful, and unique.

The energetic organisers who chose to use The Little Man Coffee Co for their event, celebration, meeting, book club, craft night, assessment, art class, hen do, banner making, podcast, and so so many other gatherings for people.

I think that the studious people who worked at our tables found the peace and focus they needed - and got a good grade or result at the end of it.

I hope that all those who needed a friendly smile or a moment of quiet - found one.

I believe that people* enjoyed their coffee - even when it was perhaps made by a team member who was young or just finding their way with our style of hospitality.

I feel sadness that shop 1 found itself in a regenerating area of now empty new units and vacant old buildings, and I bet 20p that further ‘redevelopment’ will come soon enough.

Little Man continues as a company though - and everyone tells me that I need to remind the world that we still have Little Man at Founders & Co on Wind St in Swansea, and The Little Man Garage on Tudor Lane in Riverside. We are still delivering (LOTS of) Alt’ milks, soft drinks, WGAC toilet rolls, and ‘stuff’ to businesses & homes in our electric van, and ‘Chilled and -Tannin’ our sister wine company is delivering to doorsteps and restaurants far and wide. (-and the 400 vines we planted haven’t died yet our first vintage is available in October - with the wine maker describing it as “surprisingly ok!”)

So its not the end of the world - just different to the one we’d hoped for.
