We’re delighted to share that Chef Anand George will be presenting a chef’s demo at Feast On Cardiff in Bute Park on Sunday 31st May at 1pm.
Anand will be appearing immediately before his great culinary friend James Sommerin, with whom he has memorably collaborated over the years - making this a very special afternoon for food lovers in Cardiff.
Taking place from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st May, Feast On Cardiff brings together the very best independent restaurants, traders, producers and local talent for a long weekend of food, drink and culture in one of the city’s favourite outdoor spaces.

Anand's appearnce marks a return to one of Wales’ most loved food festivals for Anand, who has previously graced the Cowbridge stage and wowed audiences with his skill, warmth and insight into the craft behind Purple Poppadom’s cooking.

On the day, Anand will be demonstrating his art to assembled food lovers, sharing the techniques, stories and flavours that have helped make Purple Poppadom so well known.

Rooted in the culinary traditions of Kerala and shaped by years of refinement and creativity, Anand’s cooking brings together colour, aroma, precision and a deep respect for ingredients.

We are very much looking forward to a special day in Cowbridge, celebrating great food, local passion and the joy of cooking.

Tales from the pass: A beautiful, spring-like day calls for something equally special from the kitchen. Raan Akbari - a true Purple Poppadom signature. Slow-braised lamb shank, delicately marinated in spices, finished in the tandoor, and served in its own rich sauce reduction with Bombay potatoes - all in tune with this buoyant season.

From the bountiful backwaters to the table - prawns have always been at the heart of Purple Poppadom. Inspired by our coastal Kerala roots, seafood runs through the soul of our menu, where depth of flavour meets delicate balance.

From King Prawn Polichathu Masala, finished in the tandoor and served with greens in a fragrant moilee of garlic, ginger and coconut milk…to our classic Prawn Moilee, where tiger prawns are gently steeped in that same rich, aromatic sauce. Refined, flavourful and unmistakably Anand George.
