Another reminder, this has been mentioned before . For on the day bookings eg 7pm today please please don’t book online at 6.30 and walk in ! No one will have seen your booking . Please always phone the restaurant and we will tell you if a table is available . We always check bookings at the end of the night , very seldom do we check for bookings during service time .

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather and Wales get a long awaited win .
Just a quick message we will not be able to take any walk in customers between 6-8 pm today . The restaurant is fully booked that is if all the bookings actually turn up!!!
Take aways as normal obviously wait time might be longer depending on how the night unfolds .
Hopefully 8 onwards we will be able to take walk in customers to the restaurant.

Hello all
There has been a serious accident by Pidgeons and the police have closed Cowbridge Rd East from the junction of Victoria Park Rd East to Kinglsland Rd for the foreseeable future so if you are coming please park on the side streets and walk down if possible

Wonder where the candle holders and flower vases are ? It’s almost time for their yearly outing for Valentine’s Day when the Star of Wales becomes quite romantic if I do say so myself!
With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year please do book expecting to be quite busy fingers crossed.

Absolutely shocked to hear of the passing of Ryan Smith . Sometimes life just doesn’t make sense , it was only a few weeks ago you were here chatting away right as rain ( I’m sure Liverpool came up ). Our hearts go out to all the Smith family . A family that is so dear to us at the Star .
I’m going to miss the chats we’d have when you used to come here my friend .
