The Prince of Wales, is a family run gastro pub situated in the charming picturesque village of Hoath. We only a 15 minute drive from the historic City of Canterbury. With its fresh homemade food, local ales, great selection of wine and beer, the Prince of Wales strives to make every guest feel at home and as part of our family including dog. We have a wide selection of foods and can cater for most diets including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. And if you cant find something on the menu you like, our chef can prepare a dish to your liking (with in reason).

🖌️ We’ve been busy with a little DIY, getting the pub ready for visitors this autumn 🍂

Our outside doors, windows and toilets have all had a much-needed refresh.

🗺️ We’ve also added a new map of Hoath village in the restaurant for you to enjoy, along with refreshed windows and entrance doors — helping us preserve the traditional character and period features of the pub you’ve come to know and love since 1912.

Over the next couple of months, we’ll continue with more traditional upkeep around the Prince of Wales, making sure the pub keeps its character while staying fresh and welcoming.

🌿 And keep your eyes peeled for our new winter garden baskets, which we’re planning for the garden too!

🎲 We currently dont open Monday nights due to low demand for food but are aware that some of you still fancy a nightout or unwind after the weekend from the kids🍺

🌒 As the nights grow draw darker, we wanted to hear your feedback about holding a games board night or open bar on a Monday evening from 5pm once a month or weekly (were demand is) with no entry fee. 💷

🧩 We have a number of tables available are happy for people who may just want to play bridge🃏, play some board games or role play like DnD or just have a chat with friends after work.

💭 Let us know your thoughts below and we will look into a monthly or weekly Monday night event for people looking for a quiet get together for games or socialise.

🚰 Good news — the water is back on at the pub! 🎉

We’ll be open as normal this weekend and ready to welcome you for food, drinks and a well-earned pint. 🍻

🚘 A little travel heads-up: Ford Hill is currently closed, so if you’re coming from the Thanet Way / Herne Bay direction, you’ll need to divert via Highstead, then follow the back roads through Boyden Gate into Hoath village.

Please allow a little extra time for your journey.

📣Update: As of Saturday morning we have water again!

Unfortunately due to a water leak on Ford Hill we will not be open for lunch service today.

This is due to a burst pipe on Ford Hill. We will aim to keep customers posted with regular updates going forward.

Our monthly music quiz is back Wednesday 7th October from 7:30pm

Following feedback, teams can be upto 6 people, but please be aware that there is limited space on certain tables, so you might have to sit on a end.

Entry is £5 per person with a mystery prize at the end for the Winning Team.

Food is available to order but you will need to arrive by 6:30pm for food 🥘
