If you’re heading down Mill Road, you need to check out Hungarian Soul. It feels like walking straight into a Hungarian living room, with a warm, charming style, a window bar for people-watching, and plenty of seating hiding away at the back. ad

Here is what we had:

Lángos: The classic Hungarian fried bread topped with sour cream, grated cheese, and smoked sausage. Brilliant for sharing.

Ham & Cheese Sandwich: Loaded up with fresh ham and cheese on the softest roll I can remember.

Hungarian French Toast: Golden fried and served with garlic sour cream.

Avocado Sandwich: Fresh bread with smashed avocado, mozzarella, and mixed leaves for a great veggie option.

Sausage Selection: Featuring traditional Hungarian sausages, blood sausage and liver sausage

The Soul Platter: The ultimate spread if you want to try a bit of everything. Similar to a British fry up but uniquely Hungarian

To wash it all down, they source their coffee from local roastery Coffee World and stock Hungarian alcohol-free beers.

The next time you are down Mill Road, make sure to catch some Hungarian Soul.

I hit Ely's newest coffee shop !

Located on Fore Hill, this takes over from the old Tamarind Bay and offers everything from Italian coffee to a bakery to one of the best avocados on toasts I've ever had.

The cafe is also dog friendly 🐶

Mina Steakhouse has a new Pan-Asian menu. Read about it here!

Regular readers of the blog will know visiting Mina over on Brookgate near the station for years. It has always been a unique fixture in the city, offering high-energy experiential dining – complete with fire dancers, vibrant mocktails, and a proper theatrical atmosphere. But owner Jay Miah has no...

Mina Steakhouse has officially transitioned from a steakhouse to Pan Asian 🔥 (ad)

Here’s what you need to order:

Mongolian Beef: The absolute star of the show. So soft, tender, and slathered in a rich, spicy sauce.

Wagyu Sando: Made with Japanese milk bread and premium Wagyu beef. Soft, crunchy, and refreshingly unique to Cambridge.

Beef Kimbap: Massive portions, super fresh, and easily some of the best I’ve had in the city.

Korean Chicken Bao Buns: Pillowy soft bao paired with thick, crunchy Korean chicken in a gochujang glaze.

The Burger: Built with double Angus beef patties melting into a cheese-soaked bun. Pure gooey paradise!

They’re also still the only place in Cambridge doing a proper Seafood Boil! 🦐

If you’re near the station and want big, bold flavours with a proper side of showmanship, get yourself down here.

Have you ever had a Caribbean Sunday Roast? Head to the Cambridge Market to The Caribbean Barn now!

As part of my ongoing quest to try every single food stall on Cambridge Market, I recently found myself checking out The Caribbean Barn. Operating every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, they bring a taste of the island sun to the square. On this visit, I decided to tackle something truly distinct: thei...

I headed to to hit for a Carribbean Sunday roast! 🇯🇲

If you are in a Sunday roast rut then this is a great place to go for something feisty and exciting. For £15 you get jerk chicken, Yorkshire puddings, roast potato, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, along with rice and beans. This is then loaded with onion gravy.

Mango juice is also available which really hit the spot on a summer's day. The chicken has a spicy warmth but won't blow your head off.

Make sure you check then out Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
