JAPANESE CAFÉ ON BURLEIGH STREET! 🥢🌸

​If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful café with plenty of character, on Burleigh Street in Cambridge is definitely worth a visit - especially if you love Japanese food.

​Here is what we got stuck into:
​🥗 Chicken Katsu Poke Bowl (fully customisable) - An impressive sight and an absolute monster of a portion! It was loaded with corn, carrots, edamame beans, and radish, all sitting on a bed of sushi rice. The chicken was perfection with an extra-crispy coating - it was so massive I couldn't even finish it!

​🍜 Udon Noodles & Katsu - My son went for the udon noodles with the same brilliant chicken katsu, which you could instantly tell was freshly made. The broth was lovely and thick with a really deep, comforting flavour.

​🍪 The Gochujang Cookie - I grabbed one of these on my way out. It is quite unusual - sweet, savoury, and properly spicy! I wasn't sure about it at first, but by the end, I couldn't get enough.

ad - KOREAN BBQ ON GREEN STREET! 🥢🔥
​If you want a spot that is super fun, social, and gets everyone interacting, YORI on Green Street in Cambridge is hard to beat. The best part? You get to cook your own food right at the table on a built-in grill!
​Here is what we got stuck into:
​🥩 The Yori Signature Combo - The ultimate sharing feast. You pick your sizzling meat—like marinated beef bulgogi or pork belly—paired with a boiling stew like kimchi jjigae, seasonal banchan, and a fresh house salad.
​🥟 Traditional Classics - They are much more than just a grill. We ordered crispy Goon Mandu (pan-fried dumplings), traditional Korean jeon pancakes, thick udon noodles, and proper Korean fried chicken.
​🥬 The Lettuce Wrap Hack - My top tip for beating the carbs: order a side of fresh lettuce leaves. They are so big and crisp that you can use them as actual wraps for your grilled meat!
​🍺 To finish it all off, I grabbed one of their signature Korean b**rs.

on Hills Road has built a massive cult following over the years, and they’ve now opened up a brand new shop right on Bridge Street in St Ives!

​They’re serving up everything from artisan sourdough and specialty coffee to some of the finest pastries in the county.

Here’s what I got stuck into:

​🥖 Loaded Cheese & Chutney Baguette - Proper crusty, quality bread loaded with thick-cut cheese and slathered in tangy chutney. Holds together brilliantly.

​🧁 Passion Fruit Cruffin - Absolutely sensational. Soft, gooey, perfectly tart, and dusted with powdered sugar. My personal favourite of the day!

​🥐 Almond Croissant - Sitting outside in the sun on Bridge Street genuinely felt like being on holiday in Europe. Super crispy, packed with nutty flavour, and ideal for dipping in your coffee.

I'm looking to update my list of the best places to eat in Cambridgeshire. Where have I missed?

Cambridge boasts an exciting and diverse food scene. This can sometimes feel overwhelming for visitors, but worry not! I am a lifelong Cambridge resident, with many years of exploring this thriving restaurant scene under my belt and I am excited to share with you my hand picked favourites for people...

There are some amazing bakeries in the county, but for me, in Ely is on a completely different level.

​I grabbed myself a custard doughnut which was sensational - soft, so fresh, and absolutely loaded. Ideal for dipping in your coffee!

​Their cinnamon bun is my all-time favourite. It is so dense and sweet - just watch out, as it is so sticky I got it all over my camera!

​They even use my favourite local coffee roaster, Ely-based .

​If that wasn't enough of an endorsement, both and use Grain Culture buns for their burgers.

​They also have a brilliant little shop inside, selling high-quality produce like craft b**r, natural wines, and loads of top-tier Italian store cupboard goods.
​No wonder they made the Good Food Guide - if you haven't been yet, you are seriously missing out!

Ad - It's open! It is finally open! Waitrose & Partners has refurbished its store in St Neots Waitrose & Partners and if it's good enough for the Royal Family, it's definitely good enough for me.

They have completely transformed the store with lovely new counters, including an upgraded bakery and a meat & fish section - and of course, the myWaitrose hot drink station for your daily free coffee.

I headed straight over for a Waitrose No. 1 dry-aged ribeye steak, plus fresh asparagus, baby new potatoes, and more to make a proper dinner at home.

When ingredients are this fresh, eating in feels just as good as dining out.
