Meet Charlie & Luna 🐶💛
The mornings down here at Hulme End are so quiet you can hear almost nothing but the birds, 🐝 the breeze, and the odd tractor in the distance. It’s in moments like these that the most interesting people seem to appear. 🌿
This morning, it was Charlie and his beautiful dog, Luna. 🐕
Covered in dust and walking boots worn thin from miles on the road, Charlie told me he’d walked all the way from Surrey in this scorching heat 🥵☀️ and was heading up for Scotland. No big plan, no schedule — just a man who’d finally had enough of the rat race we call life.
So he packed a bag, turned off his phone, put one foot in front of the other, and started walking. 🥾
I put the kettle on while Luna happily tucked into a sausage, tails wagging beside us. We chatted for a while, swapped stories, and before they carried on, I gave them a lift over to the neighbouring village to help them along the way. 🫶
Two strangers this morning.
A story I’ll remember for a long time. 💛
Before we parted, he reminded me that times like this restore his faith in humanity before disappearing down the country lanes with Luna by his side. 💛🌿
Safe travels Charlie. ☺️☺️
