In the UK, we all pay one of the highest VAT rates in Europe. 20% extra in VAT for your pint, meal out or stay away. In France, Spain and Italy, it’s 10%. In Germany? 7%.

Minimum 15 hours per week • Blended Role (Kitchen + Front of House)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Café Assistant to join our busy team! This is a blended position, working across both front of house and kitchen, so you’ll enjoy plenty of variety in your day.

⭐ What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a fast paced café is essential
• Flexible for some Saturdays (no Sundays)
• Confident working in both kitchen and front of house
• Friendly, reliable, and great with customers
• Excellent punctuality and time keeping is a must

☕ What You’ll Be Doing

• Serving customers and taking orders
• Supporting in the kitchen with basic prep, cooking and maintaining hygiene and safety standards
• General café duties like cleaning, restocking, and helping during busy spells

It was an absolute privilege to be a small part of today’s annual service and parade, commemorating the courage and sacrifice of the Fusiliers at Gallipoli.

Moments like these remind me how honoured I am to own a business that works so closely with such inspiring people.

Thank you to Col Mike McDonald for organising, and to everyone involved in making it such a powerful and poignant day.

Every year, the The Fusiliers and the Town of Bury commemorate the bravery of our antecedent Regiment, 1st Battalion the Lancashire Fusiliers, during the Gallipoli Campaign. The first landings took place at 0600 on 25 April 1915 and the Battalion won everlasting fame by winning six Victoria Crosses that day, the so-called “6 VCs before breakfast”.

Tomorrow will see a programme of commemoration events including a church service and parade through the town. We hope you will join us in remembering those who took part in the campaign.
