Happy weekend everyone! 🌿☀️

From today, we are selling Porters Lodge Sustainable Wood — £5 per bag! 🪵

The bags are available just inside the entrance to the courtyard. Please pay at the servery in the Tea Room.

We also have Porters Lodge Gift Vouchers, available for any denomination and valid for one year from the date of issue.
They can be purchased in the Tea Room, sent to you in the post, or emailed — the perfect gift 🎁, is it too early to mention the C word?! 🎅🏼🎄 We’ll let you decide! 😉

Good morning!
What a start to September it has been! ☀️ ☔️ ⛅️ 🌧️ ☁️

Just a little reminder that we have plenty of undercover space here at Porters Lodge, both in our Tea Room and Ickneild Room, as well as our gazebos, which provide great shelter from the elements too!

So do come along and enjoy one of our signature summer menu favourites 🍰 🍨 or perhaps a hot chocolate and some comforting food if you’re feeling more autumnal! ☕️ 🫖
The garden is now transitioning into late summer blooms , the colours are beautiful 🌺

🍃 Good morning everyone! 🌿

We’ve decided to open to the public today! 🎉

We have an MG Car Club rally 🚘 visiting us this morning, so we’re already open!

Why not pop along, enjoy the garden, see the cars while they are still here ( until 1.30pm ) and have a little Bank Holiday Monday treat in the Tea Room? ☕️🌸🚗

Good morning , for the safety of our staff and our visitors we have put the following measures in place for today Friday 14th August .
☀️Reduced opening times - we will open at 9.30-1.30 ish - depending on how intense the heat is today .
☀️ Reduced menu - there will be no hot food today - sandwiches , pork pie or Scotch egg platters , cheese or fruit scones , and our usual selection of cakes will be available all day until we close . Hot drinks will be available as well as cold drinks . We have ice creams too !
☀️Staff and visitor welfare is our top priority and we will react accordingly to help everyone to cope with these conditions 🥵
☀️ Due to the dedication of Craig and the team of staff and volunteers , the garden is constantly being watered and is green , in bloom and surviving , which not many gardens can boast right now , so do come along to enjoy !
☀️ Visitors please wear hats , sunglasses , cool clothing , bring water bottles with you which we are happy to fill with tap water. 😎
☀️ We hope that normal service will resume Saturday and Sunday when the temp is due to drop to mid 20’s ( 🙏🤞🙏) please watch this page for updates .

🌿We have something new for you to discover in our garden… a Liver Bird!

Crafted in Africa from recycled jerry cans and car parts, this striking piece of artwork is our latest sculpture for you to see at Porters Lodge.

Keep an eye out for her as you explore the garden this weekend – we’d love to know what you think! ( Should we name her Cilla ? 😉) 🌿

🌸 Historic Iris Bulbs for Sale This Weekend at Porters Lodge 🌸

Our volunteer gardener and iris expert Joy will be in the Walled Garden to sell our iris plants to you , offer advice, demonstrate the best way to divide and replant the iris plants and help you choose colour combinations and planting arrangements to create a beautiful display in your own garden.

Whether you’re new to growing irises or looking to expand your collection, Joy will be delighted to answer your questions and share her wealth of knowledge.
Cash payment is preferred , iris are subject to availability.

Our garden and tea room are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 4.00pm. We look forward to seeing you!

☀️ Happy weekend ! ☀️ A huge thank you to everyone who visited us yesterday. It was wonderful to meet so many people enjoying a holiday in the area, and, of course, it was equally lovely to welcome back our local customers and regular visitors.

A special mention goes to Christina Bullock, who celebrated a surprise birthday with friends and family, beautifully organised by her daughter.Happy Birthday Christina! 🎉

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the Porters Lodge gardening team. They have been tirelessly watering the gardens with passion, dedication and determination, doing everything they can to help our plants thrive despite the prolonged dry conditions. Their hard work is very much appreciated, and we’re sure you’ll agree the gardens continue to look beautiful. There are some wonderful photo opportunities, see attached from Chris Madden our local photographer.
