Just a little post from us today ❤️
Earlier we posted to let everyone know that we’d made the decision to close today due to having to change our usual location.
After doing this for the last 3 years, we know our customers VERY well, and we know that a change of location can really confuse people and massively affect how busy we are. With jacket potatoes taking at least 2 hours to cook, a really quiet day doesn’t just mean a quiet till — it can mean a LOT of food going to waste. So sometimes, from a business point of view, it simply isn’t worth us attending.
However, someone commenting anonymously today said they feel like we’re “closed more than we’re open” 👀😂
I can only guess who it might be… but I’m actually quite flattered that they keep such a close eye on our little business. ❤️
Because if you’ve been watching us that closely, you’ll also know that this has been an incredibly difficult year for our family.
Our regular customers know that normally we work 6 days a week while raising 4 children and running a business. This year, on top of all of that, I’m also trying to process the loss of my mum.
So yes, if an opportunity comes along where it makes sense for us to close for the day, sometimes we grab it with BOTH hands.
Because those “days off” aren’t always days off.
Some of them are spent going through my mum’s belongings, sorting out her home and trying to deal with everything that comes after losing a parent — while still trying to keep our family and our business going.
Do I need to explain any of this? Absolutely not.
But I wanted to, because there is always a real person and a real life behind a business page.
We ALWAYS make it clear on our page whether we’re open or closed, and we are incredibly lucky to have customers who understand, support us and continue to turn up for us week after week.
So to all of our favourite CUSTOMERS who have supported Spud Heaven through what has been one of the hardest years of our lives — thank you. ❤️
And to our anonymous follower… thank you for keeping such a close eye on our opening hours. We appreciate the engagement. 😉🥔❤️
