It’s 1am, the pub is quiet, the chairs & tables are empty, the fridges are whirring, Jamie & the girls are snoring away, and I'm sat here taking a moment to actually take it all in…
Today marks 3 months since we took over the running of The Freehold Tavern🥹🍻
And honestly… where on earth has that time gone?! 🤔
Three months ago, we walked through these doors with a mixture of excitement, nerves, hope and probably a tiny bit of “why on earth are we doing this again?!” 😂
But sitting here tonight, looking around at this place that has become such a huge part of our lives, we can honestly say we wouldn’t change it. ❤️
It hasn’t always been easy. There have been long days, even longer nights, a flooded cellar, blown electrics, a leaking roof, plenty of hard work and moments where we’ve wondered how we’re still standing at 1am 😂… but there have also been so many moments that have made every bit of it worthwhile.
The people we’ve met.
The friendships we’ve made.
The laughs we’ve shared.
The familiar faces walking through the door.
And something that has genuinely meant so much to us is how many of you have taken an interest in our girls too. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has listened to their stories, asked about their latest achievements, celebrated their little wins with us and taken the time to get to know them. They’ve become part of the Freehold family in their own little way... whether you realised it or not! 🥹❤️
And a special thank you to everyone who has had to endure a cheesy joke from one of them… 😑😂 or been subjected to watching yet another dance they've created in the middle of the pub! 🙄💃🤣
Those little moments are honestly what make this place feel so much more than just a business to us.
We genuinely cannot thank everyone enough for the support you’ve shown us over these last three months. Every drink bought, every event attended, every kind word, every recommendation, every share and every person who has walked through our doors has helped us more than you probably realise.
What started as a favour and a bit of a leap of faith is slowly becoming something we can genuinely be so proud of. Watching the business grow and go from strength to strength has been an incredible feeling, and we’re so excited about what’s still to come.
We have so many plans, ideas and things we want to bring to The Freehold Tavern, and we can't wait to continue building something that feels like our place, but belongs to everyone who walks through those doors too.
So, as I sit here at 1am in the quiet, I'm feeling incredibly grateful.
Grateful for this opportunity.
Grateful for the people we’ve met.
Grateful for the friendships we’ve found.
Grateful for the support.
And most of all, grateful for everyone who has become part of our journey.
Here’s to the first 3 months… 🥂
Thank you for being part of it. We genuinely couldn’t do it without you. ❤️
Here’s to whatever the next chapter brings… 🍻
Jamie & Jen ❤️
