World Bee Day today! There are some great tips below on how to help out these super little pollinators!

World Bee Day is celebrated globally today, highlighting the vital role of bees and other pollinators in sustaining ecosystems, food security, and human well-being.

'Bee Together for People and the Planet – A partnership that sustains us all'.
This year’s theme focuses on the deep connection between humans and pollinators, emphasising their role in food production and livelihoods and the need for us to protect them.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫
Bees and other pollinators are essential to life on Earth. They support nearly 75% of global food crops, including fruits, vegetables, and nuts. They play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem balance and their decline poses serious risks to both our food security and environmental sustainability.

👉𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝
Everyone can take action to support pollinators. We can create bee-friendly habitats by planting native, pollinator-friendly flowers, or take part in No Mow May. We can reduce pesticide use, or even better, avoid it altogether.
By spreading awareness about pollinator decline, we can encourage everyone to do their bit to help.

Legend has it that Saint Valentine was a beekeeper himself and had a great love for the creatures. He was known for his gentle and caring treatment of the bees, and it is said that he would often talk to them and bless them with his prayers.

Looking foward to tomorrow's Christmas Fayres where we will be selling our beautiful local honey, produced on the Carrogs Road, Burren in Co. Down.

Pop into Warrenpoint Town hall from 11am-3pm or Kibroney Integrated School in Rostrevor from 10am-2pm if you would like to pick up a jar ;)
