It has been a great honour for The Auld Hoose to commission the incredibly talented artist Mike Caira to create a unique painting inspired by an idea we shared with him.

Mike brought his own artistic vision to the table, capturing The Auld Hoose in a way that is truly special to us.

As a close friend of one of the owners, Mike embraced the challenge wholeheartedly and has absolutely smashed it out the park.

Mike is a proud local artist based in Kirkcaldy.

Achieving a lifelong ambition, Mike graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art in Dundee in 2009 with BA HONS whilst also being awarded the prestigious Bernard Cooper Prize for Printmaking in his graduation year.

Mike has continued his creative journey by embracing a diverse range of styles and genres from figure work to abstract, exploring myriad combinations.

We are delighted to celebrate his work right here in the community.

We will be hosting a gallery event showcasing a selection of Mike’s work alongside the official unveiling of his stunning new painting.

Each signature from our loyal customers that is displayed on the wall will be treasured and kept safely behind the new painting, becoming a lasting piece of history embedded in the heart of The Auld Hoose.

The Auld Hoose had some truly special visitors this weekend as we welcomed Chelsea Morris and her partner Jackson Reeves, who travelled all the way from Australia to reconnect with a piece of their family history right here in Kinghorn.

Chelsea has an emotional link to the Auld Hoose, her papa and great grandad were regulars here back in 1950’s, when the pub was at the heart of local life.

We believe the pub was well known for organising bus trips. (1st Picture taken below approx. 1956).

If you recognise anyone in the photo, a relative, a neighbour or a familiar face from the old days we’d love to hear from you.

A lovely couple with great chat and a real connection to the Auld Hoose!

During our recent renovations we discovered 4 fireplaces which help cement the history of 3 previous houses.

After the huge success at our wine tasting night, we took every bit of the feedback from all you lovely wine connoisseurs who joined us and we’ve used it to craft The Auld Hoose’s brand new wine list.
