Sanctuary Rock Bar has been THE alternative venue in Burnley for over a decade. It was born in 2005, providing a pub, club and live venue to the alt. Sanctuary comprises of three floors playing the best Rock, Metal, Reggae, Ska, Alternative, Electro, Indie, Punk, theme tunes and Party Anthems, with spaces for partying hard, pub chats and chilling out. We host some of the best original bands around
, along with local, tribute, cover and internationally renowned bands every weekend, in addition to regular Clubnights and quiz nights. Fridays are our main Clubnights, including 'Drop It Like It's Sanc', our regular Metal vs Hiphop night, and 'Where's Mavis?', the legendary Preston clubnight. We also occasionally have bands on Fridays, with our resident Friday DJ, Jammie O'Brien, rocking the decks until the early hours with the best in contemporary Metal, Rock and Party Anthems. Saturdays are our main band nights, with bands covering all genres playing on our stage, followed by Kev 'n Bobby bringing you Classic Metal & Rock, along with Anthems, Glam and NWOBHM tunes. Sundays are our Quiz nights, brought to you by Trash Mandigoh with his Mouthful Of Quiz, where there's a gallon of beer to be won every week! We are proud to be in association with Bloodstock Festival, hosting METAL 2 THE MASSES each year, where bands from all over the North West come together in a battle of the bands, with the winner going on to play at Bloodstock Festival that same year. We also have official Bloodstock Clubnights where incredible bands come to have a mad party with us, full of prizes and giveaways. We've had UK Subs, HECK, Exit State, ICON, The Dead XIII, Sexwolf!, Lawnmower Deth, Evile, Beholder, and Evil Scarecrow play at Sanctuary, in some cases we were very early supporters of the bands in their formulative days before they went on to huge things. They rarely forget Sanctuary, either, regularly returning due to the unique atmosphere and the way we're set up. As for the drinkers amongst you, we have you covered! We've got an awesome range of beers, ales, ciders and spirits, an entire menu of insane bombs, and loads of deals and offers, along with £2 drinks for students every Friday until midnight! No night is complete without a random stranger doing a head count and buying a round of Cherry Bakewell shots for everyone at the bar! So, from the first floor, where you can chat, drink, play a round of pool and have a few pints, to the second floor, where you can pump your fist, Party Hard and catch the best live music around, to the third floor where you can catch your breath and chat, Sanctuary gives you everything! Sanctuary is going from strength to strength, with more and more exciting events planned for 2016 and beyond, so come down, have a beer and PARTY HARD!!!
