The UK's biggest celebration of the countryside is calling... and our friends at Hawkstone are bringing The Hawkstone Arms with them.
Join them at The Game Fair from 24–26 July for three days of countryside sport, great food, good company and award-winning beer and cider.
Expect world-class competitions, people in tweed worth more than your first car, and enough countryside pursuits to have you convinced you need a Land Rover and a Labrador by the end of the weekend.

Whether you're watching the action, exploring the show or simply looking for a proper British pint, The Hawkstone Arms will be at the heart of it all.

Important update about tonight's World Cup semi-final screening.

We've become aware of a few posts suggesting tonight's screening is open to anyone who fancies turning up.

It isn't.

The event is strictly ticket only and is now completely sold out. There will be no tickets available on the gate, and security will be checking tickets on arrival to ensure we remain within our licensed capacity.

If you're one of the lucky ones with a ticket, we'll see you later. Bring your voice, wear something white and prepare to offer tactical advice that absolutely nobody on the pitch will hear.

Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Apparently shouting at a giant screen together works rather well, so we're back. England vs Argentina, Wednesday night, live in the pub garden with Hawkstone, Knollbury Fort and our famous pies. Tickets are £2 with the full price of ticket being donated to SHOUT.

Tickets are limited, so don't hang about. 🍻

We shut the pub for a night and took some time to celebrate with the 170 wonderful people who make it all happen at The Dog, in the kitchens, the pub, Hops&Chops and the .farmshop - in the tent as well as in the prep kitchen and the team from the car parks and alongside some of our friends from who we rely on to keep our many bars flowing ..we couldn’t more grateful to this wonderful team for making a visit to The Dog so special..

A quick update from The Farmer’s Dog.

It turns out that when Britain reaches temperatures normally associated with southern Spain, certain things stop working properly.

As a result, Chops (our butcher’s counter) will be closed today and potentially for the remainder of the week. The combination of extreme heat, refrigeration units and a giant tent has proved challenging. We’re working on solutions and will reopen as soon as it’s sensible to do so. Don’t worry, our famous sausage rolls will still be available from the garden bars and pub bar.
farmshop and Hops will remain open, although you may notice we’ve moved a few tills around to make life slightly more bearable for our team.

And finally, a word on dogs.

We love them. The clue is in the name. Normally they’re always welcome. But with very little shade on site and temperatures nudging towards 35°C and beyond, today might be a good day for them to stay somewhere cool and comfortable instead.

Thank you for your understanding.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to stand in a walk-in fridge.

A year’s graft in every pint. From field to glass, good beer doesn’t happen overnight. . Hard to make, easy to drink.
