The Eight Bells

The Eight Bells Just a local pub, with local ales and good pub grub. Nothing more, nothing less. Our ethos is to keep things simple!

Run by Willie, Barbara and Sarah for over 40 years, the Eight Bells is a favourite pub for many Bures residents as well as those from a little further outside the village. We always feature a range of local ales from breweries including the Colchester Brewery, Woodfordes, the Humpty Dumpty brewery and many more! A large proportion of our food is homemade, including the ever popular spotted dick and most of our weekday specials such as toad in the hole and steak and kidney pudding.

Rookie error made today. I got 2 tables mixed up for bills to be paid and accidentally overcharged a customer by £8.
The couple had phoned up before coming in as they were walking to us. They had a chilli and a ploughman's and sat on the patio. Unfortunately I don't remember their names!
If they see this please get in contact so I can make it right on your next visit.
