It’s been a year since I got the keys and opened the doors of The Old Bank Tearooms for the first time - wondering if what I had imagined might be possible, and what a year it’s been! Looking back I’m amazed at how much we’ve fitted in - markets, the folk festival, Christmas carols, Casablanca night, craft club, book club, open mic and fantastic regular live music like the Ruritanian Cafe Orkestra, Nathan Thomas and now Devon Harper’s Jazz Quartet as well, the whirlwind that is Iestyn Edwards who has had us all in tears of laughter, and now back to Black Shuck again… I want to thank my friends and family who have helped me get up and running, the wonderful community of Bungay that has embraced what we do, all the fantastic local suppliers, the support of customers - our regulars and occasional visitors too, the dogs! and most of all the amazing team who work with me - without whom I would not have lasted a month! Here’s looking forward to new plans and building on what we’ve managed so far… 🙏🥂🫖

What a fantastic weekend! So many of our customers were buzzing about what they had seen or in anticipation of the next event. A huge ‘Thank you’ to the whole team behind Black Shuck Festival 🙏
Not only does Black Shuck give the local economy an enormous and much needed boost in the short term, it also introduces new people to the joys of Bungay and our wonderful community who may never have come here without the inspiration of Black Shuck - it’s a fantastic service you do for the town and we are lucky to have such creative and committed people amongst us working together for the good of the community - congratulations and thanks to the whole team 🙌 🙏🐺🐾 - roll on the the Bungay Folk Festival, another wonderful town event for your diaries…
