Running a business is hard. And when you’re sleep deprived (start of term germs = poorly Rosabella) its easy to get bogged down with all the stuff you feel like you’re not doing right, and all the issues that need resolving.
But today, even though I was only in Bungay for around 4 hours, a little magic was sprinkled giving me just the boost I needed!
Firstly our autumn order from Jane Steward, Eastgate Larder - the medlar specialist was hand delivered by wonderful Jane, who is the warmest and wisest person and I respect hugely. I’m so pleased I was there to see her for a big hug and a catch up!
Next onto a meeting re this year’s Christmas window plans, which I am SO excited for but will keeping under wraps (just for now)!
A spontaneous visit from a local, actually national, legend - an author who is wonderful as you could hope he would be. More to follow, but he has kindly offered to sign his books which we lovingly stock in The Edit. And even sweeter, he suggested my team bring in their copies from home for him to sign too.
A quick conspiratorial chat about how tired we are with lovely Lucy Roberts from the brilliant BAKED.onearshamstreet , comparing notes on the highs and lows of motherhood vs running a business.
And finally bumping into my dear friend who I have seen far too little of this year; now retired from the most fabulous career in retail, she is an absolute guru and always my cheerleader.
And in between, I did some work!
