Have you noticed?

August always arrives with a strange mix of emotions.

For some, the suitcases have already been unpacked. For others, there’s still one last getaway to come. Parents are quietly counting down to the school run, children are wishing summer could last forever, and somehow… people have already started mentioning Christmas.

We’re not quite there yet.

There’s still a Bank Holiday to enjoy. More sunshine to come. Still time for one more drink in the garden. Still time to catch up with friends you haven’t seen all summer.

And we’ve got a couple of Saturdays worth sticking in the diary.

🥩 Just Steak are back on Saturday 15th August — always a popular one and, if you know, you know 💚🤤

🍕 Then for Bank Holiday weekend, we’re welcoming Paolo’s Pizza on Saturday 29th August for their first pop-up here.

Happy 60th Birthday to our Mary! 🦜💚 Mary Lockyer

Most of you will know Mary as she lives in the village, but in our pub she’s the one who quietly keeps us looking our best, making sure everything’s shipshape before the doors open each day 🧼🧹🪣🧴

Today she’s enjoyed a well-earned day off celebrating with her family 🥂 see you in the morning though… 🥴😆😘
