A little look back at a couple of the cakes I made during December ✨

Tiered cakes aren’t for everyone and honestly, a one tier beautifully detailed cakes can be just as much of a show-stopper!

I absolutely loved creating these designs and working in this timeless style. Both cakes were made for such lovely couples, and I want to wish you all the happiness in the world as you begin this next chapter together 🤍

Cake one:
- Gluten free vanilla sponge with a white chocolate buttercream and raspberry jam. Decorated with white chocolate buttercream icing and fresh raspberries.

Cake two:
- Chocolate fudge cake with a chocolate ganache filling, coated in vanilla buttercream.

✨ Archie is ONE today! ✨

And to celebrate our miracle boy, we’re on our way to Ninewells NICU with these hampers, sweet treats, and three Tonie boxes (plus extra Tonies!) to donate to the unit that saved his life. 💜

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Cosy Crumble Pop-Up as your support, kindness, and generosity made it possible for us to buy all of these amazing things. Truly, thank you 💕

During our months in the NICU, Archie had his little Tonie box beside him. Instead of only hearing monitors and alarms, he got to fall asleep to gentle music and calming stories and honestly, it was just as soothing for me and Graham. It brought a little bit of normality and comfort into such a stressful time.

We also know firsthand how hard NICU life is. How easy it was to forget about ourselves. We’d forget to eat, forget to drink, and spend hours completely absorbed in Archie’s care, ward rounds, and the emotional rollercoaster of each day.
So being able to stock the parents’ lounge with snacks, drinks, sweet treats, and a few small essentials like deodorant, moisturiser, face wipes, and of course tissues (because we know how many we went through!) feels really meaningful. It may not seem like much but I hope it gives other parents a tiny boost on the days they really need it. 💙

Looking back, every fear, every setback, and every long day at his bedside was worth it because now we have a happy, thriving little boy who completes our family of four. Lily absolutely adores him, and he adores her right back!

Today, on Archie’s first birthday, we just want to say a huge thank you.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us this past year.
Thank you to every single person who came to the pop-up and helped us make these donations possible.
Thank you to the incredible NICU nurses and doctors who cared for Archie like he was their own.
And thank you to our wonderful family and friends who held us up through the hardest moments.

We are forever, deeply grateful 💜

💜Thank You 💜

Thank you SO much to everyone who came along to our cosy crumble pop-up on Thursday night. After almost a year off, I honestly didn’t know what to expect and I was a bit nervous before we opened the door… but as always, your support was just incredible. You kept us going all night and we can’t thank you enough for your patience (that queue was wild – we definitely weren’t expecting it to be that busy!).

It was so lovely seeing so many familiar faces again, catching up, and handing out crumbles to you all. And yes… apple crumble sold out as per tradition! 🥰

A huge heartfelt thank you for being so generous with your donations for the NICU. Every single crumble, every tip, every bit of kindness – it all adds up, and it means the world.

Next week, on Archie’s birthday, I’ll be going into the NICU to drop off all the gifts we’ve been able to buy because of YOU. I’ll make sure to share everything so you can see exactly what your generosity helped to create for the babies, parents and staff.

For now, Sweetpea From Home is going back for a wee rest while I continue being a mum first. We don’t have any more events planned at the moment – Thursday was a really special one-off – but goodness, what a way to come back for a night. 🌿

We absolutely cannot wait for our Cosy Crumble Pop-Up at Verdala tonight! It’s a cold but bright day in the Ferry, and a hot, comforting crumble is exactly what you need to stay warm this evening 🥰🔥

Cash is king tonight – we do take card, but cash helps us avoid fees so we can give as much as possible straight to the NICU. Every crumble truly helps, and we are so grateful for your support!

Not long now until the Broughty Ferry Christmas Light Switch-On 🎄 and our Blooming Delicious Cosy Crumble Pop-Up at Verdala !!

We’re so excited to be back in the Ferry, soaking up the atmosphere, seeing all the familiar faces we’ve missed — and most importantly, doing this to give back and support the incredible NICU team at Ninewells. 💜

Only a few days to go until our Sweetpea pop-up this Thursday for the Broughty Ferry Christmas Light Switch-On and I’m SO excited to finally share the menu with you all!

🍎 From our special Toffee Apple Crumble to Eton Mess Crumble, plus Make-Your-Own crumble pots, brownie pots, school dinner sponge, hot spiced apple juice and more… it’s going to be such a cosy night.

💜 And today is World Prematurity Day, a day that means a lot to me.
As many of you know, Archie was born at just 27 weeks, weighing only 720g. This time last year we were living hour by hour in the NICU, never imagining how far he would come in a year 💜

The incredible team at Ninewells NICU kept our baby alive, supported us through the hardest weeks of our lives, and continue to support so many families just like ours.

That’s why every penny of profit from Thursday’s crumble pop-up will be donated back to the NICU, with thoughtful gifts for the staff, parents, and babies on the unit. It feels like the perfect way to honour Archie’s journey and give back to the place that gave us everything. 💕

💜 Help us give back 💜

This Thursday night, Sweetpea is coming back to Broughty Ferry for one very special pop-up crumble night and I honestly couldn’t be more excited!

My wee boy Archie turns 1 on the 28th of November and I can’t believe it’s been a year already! My whole world was turned upside down and at the start of this year I made the heartbreaking but necessary decision to close Sweetpea Cafe.
It feels incredibly emotional and incredibly heart-warming to be bringing Sweetpea back for one night only, right here in Broughty Ferry!

To celebrate everything Archie has overcome this year and mark his first birthday, I wanted to give something back to the people who helped get him here. Therefore all profits from Thursday’s crumble pop-up will be donated to the Ninewells NICU, with some thoughtful gifts for the staff, parents, and babies currently on the unit. 💜

Ninewells NICU is a place that deserves more recognition than anyone could ever imagine, and giving back feels like the perfect way to celebrate Archie turning one, and it makes it even more special doing it through Sweetpea!
