Join Emma and Pete as you are taken through chef’s career history - with each dish being introduced with an explanation as to why it’s been chosen. This week’s been all about the sport 🎾 ⚽️

We started the week with Wimbledon, and then we took home a win on Wednesday at the World Cup.

And whilst we enjoy watching from the sidelines, our true love is the great food and drink we produce.

From the quintessential Pimm’s and lemonade, to Nyetimber, Landlord and Lucky Saint. British beef, native crab, English strawberries, tomatoes and tenderstem broccoli - we will also celebrate all that is great from our very own Isle.

You might have heard we recently stopped our steak and frites Tuesdays - and for very good reason.

You enjoyed it so much, we decided to make room for it on our summer menu.

Some may say we don’t need ‘things like pride month’ anymore. But we disagree.

As we approach the end of June, we wanted to share why we believe it’s important to continue supporting and raising awareness.

Still, in 2026, people around the world are criminalised for identifying as LGBTQ, and even in the UK, we see children shunned for being simply who they are.

In America, we are seeing regression in diversity, inclusion and equality, and in 65 countries same-sex relationships can be criminalised, with some even imposing the death penalty.

Recent home office statistics, reported by Stonewall (link below) show an increase in recorded hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people over the last five years. And as a result, their research reveals that less than half of LGBTQ+ people feel comfortable holding their partners hand in public.

Everyone should feel safe to be themselves and we welcome team and guests irrelevant of gender, orientation, race or religion. Minority groups should feel heard and their challenges understood - and that’s what causes like Pride month do.

Relatable?

Our specials never stay the same, so there’s always something new to try, whether it’s testing new menu dishes, showcasing the best of the season, or the team just being creative.

This week there’s braised short rib and caramelised onion crumpet, applewood cheese and fried egg and at the weekend we’ve got tempura monkfish and sauce gribiche.

There’s blythburgh pork with basil salsa, midweek, chalk stream trout and dressed crab is back for fish Friday.

And to celebrate Wimbledon you’ll find English strawberries on the board for the next two weeks too 🍓
