Insta vs Reality ☕️

We all love a good shot for the grid. But as a small biz on the road, things aren’t always as smooth as they look. Here’s a peek behind the scenes 👇

1. The shoot day.
Looks cosy, right? Woolly hats, jumpers, hot coffees in hand. Truth is, it was roasting. There wasn’t a drop in those cups.

2. Our first film set.
Helicopters, Tower Bridge, coffee cups and smiles. Behind the lens? Hottest day of the year - forty degrees in the van. Didn't eat. Non-stop all day. Had a cry in Itsu after and a stranger handed me a bottle of water (and chocolate). Also cried on the 4 hour journey home because I was so exhausted.

3. The race day.
Sun shining over Newbury. Four coffee vans, one crowd. We all thought we’d be the only coffee van. Spoiler: no one made much 💰that day.

So yeah - Insta’s great. But the reality’s where the real stories live.

So I did a thing, that thing being DIY 😂 and upgraded my 'at home' Coffee set up.

Why you ask?

- Because... ya girl loves coffee and wants to make a Coffee Trunk quality cup for her people at home 🏠
- This is also a mini version of what we have on the truck, perfect for testing recipes and perfecting those latte art skills ☕️
- Training for any staff members prior to events, it means we don't need to bring the Truck out every time. 👩‍🏫
- Learning how to fix my Trunk machine... it means I can have a play and figure out how to make simple fixes myself 🔨🔧

Also WHY NOT?

Before Coffee Trunk, I was just a coffee-lover soaking up the vibes in other people’s shops. Warm drink in hand, notebook open, ideas brewing.

Here are a few places I kept going back to - before I started this biz and even now, when I’m not behind the wheel:

1. – Kenilworth
Light, airy, and always buzzing with good energy. The cakes? Unreal. The coffee? Always spot on. Menu’s full of surprises too. A go-to for catchups.

2. – Bromsgrove
Moved to Bromsgrove and found this gem fast. High-grade coffee and the friendliest team. Still one of my favourite places to just be.

3. – Kenilworth
This place greets you like an old friend. Warm service, lush coffee, and plenty of lunch picks that actually fill you up. Always leave happier.

4. – Leamington Spa
Started small. Hit big. Their little Leam shop was one of the first spots that made me feel coffee. Bold brews. No fuss. Never had a bad one.

5. – Birmingham (RIP) 💔
Bit of a throwback but this was the OG that lit the spark. Homey mugs, cosy corners, and that first realisation: coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s a vibe.

Big news from Trunk HQ… Today, we had our Environmental Health Inspection, and we’re absolutely buzzing to tell you - we nailed it. A solid 5-star rating from our local authority 🌟That’s top marks for keeping things clean, safe, and running smooth behind the scenes.

We’ve always said great coffee starts with high standards - from the beans we brew to the space we brew them in. So while you’re sipping your flat white or cooling off with an iced latte, know you’re in the safest (and cleanest) hands going.

Huge thanks to for having our backs every step of the way. Their resources, training, and all-round support mean we can focus on what we do best-serving killer coffee wherever the road takes us. It’s good vibes and peace of mind all round.

Coffee Trunk Spotlight:

We’ve had loads of people ask why we picked Fracino for Coffee Trunk. Fair question. Here’s the lowdown:

1. We’ve got two of their Dual Fuel Coffee Machines onboard—and they’re absolute workhorses. These machines are built to handle everything the road throws at them. Hot, cold, constant rattling around… plenty of machines would struggle. These don’t.

2. The dual fuel set-up means we can brew completely off-grid. No generator, no fuss. We run them on propane, which is super efficient, and teamed with the solar on top of the van, it keeps everything smooth and steady inside.

3. And yeah—we love that Fracino’s a Birmingham-born biz. We’re all about backing our own. Plus, their team (big shout out to Adam & Adrian!) are the best to work with.

Solid gear. Solid people. That’s why.
