This week we’re back to Mon’s hometown of Khon Kaen in the Isaan (northeastern) region of Thailand. Glutinous rice, commonly known as sticky rice is the back bone to every Isaan meal and is great for dipping - Lao influences such as ‘laab gai’ (spicy, minty, limey chicken salad 😋) and ‘som tam’ (Green papaya salad) are common accompaniments and ‘crying tiger’ grilled sirloin strips is a wee treat on special occasions!

- ‘Sua rong hai’ (crying tiger - grilled Aberdeen Angus Sirloin strips with spicy ‘nam jim’ dipping sauce)

- ‘Laab gai’ (minced chicken salad with mint, lime and chilli)
