There are days when everything just comes together… 🌸☀️🌺

Today was one of those days. Our gardens are looking absolutely stunning, bursting with colour and beauty under a glorious blue sky with not a cloud in sight 🌼☀️🌻

A huge thank you to our wonderful gardener, Debbie, whose hard work, care and dedication in all weathers help make our gardens such a special place for everyone to enjoy. She always has time for a chat with our guests who ask her enthusiastic questions about what she managed to grow so close to the sea 🌊 🌺💚

We couldn’t resist capturing this beautiful moment to share with you. We hope it brings a little sunshine to your day too!

✨ A New Chapter for The Douglas ✨

Today, we're delighted to share that, subject to completion, The Douglas Hotel is set to become part of the Buzzworks family – a proudly Scottish, family-founded hospitality business.

For more than 170 years, The Douglas has been at the heart of Arran, welcoming generations of residents and visitors alike. We couldn't be prouder of the place it holds within our island community, and we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful guests, our incredible team, and everyone who has supported us throughout the years.

Following another fantastic summer season, the hotel will temporarily close during the autumn and winter for an exciting programme of refurbishment before reopening under Buzzworks' ownership.

Finding the right business to carry The Douglas into its next chapter was incredibly important to us, and we're confident Buzzworks will honour its heritage while investing in its future.

Until then, it's very much business as usual, and we look forward to welcoming you throughout the season.

🎻🍻 30th ARRAN FOLK FESTIVAL WEEKEND 🍻🎻

The music is calling, the pints are pouring, and the Douglas Hotel is ready for another fantastic Folk Festival weekend!

📅 Friday 5th – Sunday 7th June
🕛 Open Sessions daily | 12pm – 5pm
📍 Bar Terrace (weather permitting)

We’re delighted to be hosting the much-loved Open Sessions throughout the festival weekend, giving musicians and music lovers the perfect place to gather, play, sing and soak up the atmosphere.

✨ And this year, each session will once again be hosted by the one and only fabulous Uncle Keith! ✨

Expect plenty of tunes, toe-tapping, singing along, laughter, and the wonderful community spirit that makes the Arran Folk Festival so special.

We also have the wonderful Mike Edward’s live in the bar from 9pm on Saturday night 💙

⚠️ A friendly heads-up: these sessions are always incredibly popular, so the hotel and terrace will be buzzing all weekend long!

Pull up a camping chair, grab a drink, join the chorus and make some memories with us.
