A summer exhibition at Bleak House by two established artists gives pause for thought and reflection.
This collaboration is an exhibition called Time Bends a Life, which will be at Bleak House in July and August. It’s includes photographic prints and photo-montages by Angie, alongside Sean’s new oil paintings which take photographs as their starting points. Sean explains that it is about more than the original photos. “The mobile phone, a time capsule of sorts, seemed like a good place to start, “ he says. “However, one must remember that it not only records but also distorts.Time bends in the camera’s roll.”
“This exhibition is about many things,” says Sean. “But at the centre it’s about looking, looking back, looking again, looking for longer.”

A new digital Charles Dickens trail has been developed in Kent.
The interactive trail takes users on a literary journey around Broadstairs, which organisers called one of the author’s favourite seaside destinations.
The free trail, developed in part by Canterbury Christ Church University, is a self-guided experience using QR codes to unlock stories and insights about the town’s literary heritage.
“We’ve had great fun exploring Dickens’s time in Broadstairs,” said professor Carolyn Oulton, from the university.
She added that she and the team behind the tour had also looked at the memories and responses of Victorian tourists and local residents.
“One woman remembered being told to keep her children quiet while [Dickens] was working,” Oulton said.
