4 benefits of living by the sea…

1. Cleaner air 💨

Living by the coast means cleaner air, nature rich areas are naturally less polluted.

2. It helps support mental health 🧠

“We discovered that the closer people live to the coast in England, the better they rate their health.” - Uni of Exeter study

Being by the sea (or water generally) leads to an increase in neurotransmitters, lifting our mood!

3. It’s immune boosting 💖

Plants grow near the coast that release phytoncides which boost white cells so we’re more likely to fight infections.

4. Better sleep! 💤

Coastal walkers experience better sleep (47 mins longer after a coastal walk). With higher levels of negative ions in sea air increasing our ability to absorb oxygen and balance serotonin (the happiness hormone)
