Cal’s been busy making our front table look wonderfully autumnal, filled with new seasonal treats for cosy days and chilly evenings.

A little bit of good news to share… ⭐️

We recently had our latest food hygiene inspection and we’re really pleased to have once again been awarded a 5! 💚

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep everything clean, organised and running as it should, so it’s always lovely to have that hard work recognised.

We were trying to photograph our new Christmas frog decoration ready for our festive social media posts in a few weeks… instead, we got Lydia’s reflection looking like she’s trapped inside it. 🐸😂

💌 Our wall of cards has had a rather lovely top up!

We’ve just unpacked loads of new designs, with everything from beautiful coastal scenes and wildlife to colourful illustrations, quirky characters and plenty more. There’s a card for just about everyone tucked away on here!

We love choosing cards that feel a little different from the usual high street selection, with lots of designs from independent artists and publishers. Many are also produced using more thoughtful materials, including plastic-free packaging and responsibly sourced paper. 🌿

So next time you need a card, come and have a good browse through the wall. Just be warned, choosing one might take a while! 😂

Our very own Lydia has been busy creating these lovely hand-painted cards for Porridge! Each one is individually painted by hand, so no two are quite the same. 💛

Simple, beautiful and completely unique, they’re a lovely card to give for all sorts of occasions, or just because.

We absolutely love having things in the shop that have been made by talented people right here in our little team, and we think these are rather special. 🥰

🎨 Lots of lovely new bits from Cotton Twist have arrived!

We’ve expanded our range with even more of their wonderfully creative, plastic-free craft kits for little hands. There are make-your-own bracelets, pom pom decoration kits, dreamcatchers, bird house kits and plenty more to discover. 🐝🦄🐑

We’ve also got their gorgeous watercolour pencil sets in bright and pastel colours, complete with a paintbrush and sharpener, all tucked neatly into reusable tins. ✏️

Thoughtful, screen-free activities that are fun to make and lovely to give too. We think these are going to be very handy to have tucked away for rainy afternoons and little gifts over the coming months. 🎁

Salted Caramel Mocha, Fruit & Pecan Praline and Cherry Bakewell have joined our rather lovely selection of Booja-Booja chocolate truffles, alongside favourites including Chocolate Salted Caramel, Around Midnight Espresso and Chocolate Orange. 😍

As with the rest of the range, they’re organic, dairy-free and vegan, but you really wouldn’t know it from the taste. Rich, indulgent chocolate truffles that everyone can enjoy, whether you’re dairy-free or not.

Perfect for a little treat, sharing (if you’re feeling generous!) or putting away as a lovely gift for later. 🎁

🦆 Lydia’s found a new way to make bath time a little more fun…

These very cute new duck-shaped bath sponges from EcoLiving have just arrived at Porridge! Made in the UK from natural cellulose, they’re soft, absorbent, reusable and completely plastic-free. 🌿

Unlike synthetic sponges, they won’t release microplastics, and once your duck has reached the end of its scrubbing days, it can even be cut up and added to your home compost. ♻️

Lydia seems quite taken with them already… although we’re not entirely sure they’re meant to be worn as glasses. 😂🦆
