And that’s the end of markets and events for 2025 ✅

Chai & Bean started as an idea and became something real this year. From neighbourhood pop-ups to community events and markets, we’ve loved sharing our homemade chai — plus plenty of coffee and snacks along the way.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, followed us, or supported us in any way.

Looking ahead to 2026 with ideas, ambition and lots of smiles. See you next year 👋

Come by for freshly brewed karak chai, coffee, hand-fried samosas, and our new homemade masala chai spice mix jars — perfect for adding to your tea, coffee, or milk at home.

We’ll be serving as always with warmth and good vibes from the Chai & Bean stall.

4. We pursued careers in surgery — orthopaedics for Omar, ophthalmology for Ushna.

But between long shifts, night on-calls and early starts, one thing always brought comfort to us and our colleagues:

A hot cup of chai or coffee — shared in moments of exhaustion, joy and connection.

In our own kitchen, with our daughters by our side, Chai & Bean was born — not just as a drinks stall, but as a family legacy in the making.

PART ONE

1️⃣ We’re Omar and Ushna — a husband-and-wife team, surgeons by profession and parents of two girls 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧. Together, we created Chai & Bean to bring authentic chai, coffee, samosas and snacks to Bristol 🇵🇰➡️🇬🇧.

For us, every cup is more than a drink — it’s a moment of connection. A reflection of our family roots, our culture, and our desire to build something meaningful for the community around us 💛.

We’re so glad to have you with us on this journey.

2️⃣ WHERE IT ALL BEGAN…🇵🇰 ✨
This is little Ushna in Multan, Pakistan — where our story truly begins.

At just 7 years old, she started making chai the traditional way — no shortcuts, no premixes. Just real tea, whole spices, and a simmering pot that filled the home with warmth and comfort.

Chai isn’t just a drink for us — it’s a family legacy. Passed across generations and continents…

👉 …and this legacy would one day travel all the way to Bristol.

3️⃣ HUMBLE BEGINNINGS…

Before and during medical school, Omar worked in a hospital café and on the wards — serving patients, visitors and NHS staff.

Years later, the values of service and hospitality would be reignited through Chai & Bean. But first, our journey took us into a different kind of service — healthcare.
