New Cut Coffee We are an independent specialist coffee roaster and cafe located on the edge of Bristol’s historic Floating Harbour.

We’re saying goodbye to one of New Cut’s longest standing faces today 🥲

You may know Matt as ‘Man With Cake No. 2’ from our seagull video, best known for dramatically throwing himself off a bench in pursuit of his pie. A legend frankly.

After many years with us, Matt is off to pursue his dream career in Aeronautical Engineering. So if you’re ever on a plane, just know you’re in safe hands with this man.

We’re going to miss his calming energy, his wonderfully dry sense of humour 🥺

Good luck Matt, we’ll miss you. Don’t be a stranger.

If you’re popping in today, be sure to say goodbye and thank him for all the coffees.

There’s a new coffee on the block ☕️

We’re welcoming Katanda from the southern end of Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains into the mix.

In the cup, it’s bright and juicy with good body like biting into a perfectly ripe apricot, followed by a little twist of citrus.

We paid a visit to our pals Interlude to check out their new spot and whatta spot it is!!

Lawrence has absolutely outdone himself. A very lovely new home for some very lovely coffee.

We had a fab Kenyan espresso, washed down with a funky little Muskateller because apparently that’s how we do coffee shop visits now.

Big love to the Interlude gang and wishing them all the good stuff in their new home 🫶

Say hello to Jowan! The newest face behind the bar at New Cut.

After stints at some of Bristol’s favourite coffee spots, most recently Spicer and Cole he joins us with plenty of coffee knowledge, a lot of curiosity, and an unmatched level of passion. He’s also a vintage game aficionado!

He’s already contributed one very important thing to the team: a solid rotation of hardcore and hip hop classics!

A great addition and be sure to have a chat with him when you pop in :)

On the 26th June 2026 New Cut Coffee teams up with for an evening of cocktails and ice cream.

Four cocktails. Four homemade gelatos!

We’re keeping things cosy with shared café-style tables and serving, so expect to chat to strangers, swap favourite flavours, and accidentally stay out later than planned. Bring your friends, bring a date, or come solo and make new friends over melted dessert and strong drinks.
