Espresso roast? Never… unless it’s Cata Project from 🍓 🌰 🍫

We always use filter roasts for espresso because they are typically roasted lighter and offer greater clarity.

What’s the trade-off? You lose a little body in the espresso, and it can be a bit trickier to work with.

What do you gain? Enhanced clarity and the ability to push the coffee to a higher extraction, which increases sweetness and allows intricate qualities to shine through.

Does this mean espresso roasts are bad? Not at all.

Although Cata Project is an “espresso” roast, it is still roasted lightly with very soluble components, allowing us to achieve high extractions with clarity.

This year’s blend tastes like strawberries with a Ferrero Rocher finish.
