The Pony Sunday Roast

We roast our pork on a bed of onions, allowing them to slowly glaze and caramelise beneath the meat as it cooks.

Those onions, enriched with the rendered pork fat and roasting juices, become the base of the onion soubise you’ll find on your plate.

And yes, crackling included, of course…

All our roasts come with roast potatoes and yorkies, even our vegetarian and market fish, a big bowl of fresh seasonal vegetables and a cauliflower & leek cheese to share.

Make sure to leave room for dessert.
Fresh Cheddar strawberries are beautifully in season right now, or if you’re after something a little more indulgent, our sticky toffee pudding is always a crowd pleaser.

Vegan and gluten free options available too.

Join us for our popular Sunday Roast, 12-4pm.

Our Pony Sunday Roast hits all the right notes. Comforting, tasty, leisurely and to be enjoyed with family, friends or dining solo over a Bloody Mary, cold glass of English Sparkling or a chewy red.

An excellent roast with all the trimmings and the perfect way to end your weekend

After a balanced starter our Main Event is prepped with precision. Time is taken to roast our meats, fish is delicately cooked and our Wellington is packed with seasonal veg.

All main dishes come with a big bowl of vegetables to share with the table, cauliflower cheese plus extra gravy.

Desserts are the perfect end. Head down the sticky toffee pudding route or go for something a little lighter.

Happy customers always makes the Team happy too 🫶🏼

We recently found this video from a good few years ago. You can tell it’s old from the sound quality and square plates with a zig-zag glazed garnish as well as how young looks 👀

It’s aged well though. So much in there is true to this day. Local producers, suppliers, farmers as well as which was The Valley Smokehouse. Suppliers since day 1, over 20yrs ago and still used today.

Being a welcome place for a ploughman’s, a bowl of soup or a 3 course meal - and still not pigeon holed into a style or label. We’re a produce led restaurant, an event space, community hub, cookery school, a place for a drink in the garden or pub and a kitchen garden.

Anyone is welcome, always.
