Meet the Team – Dennis ☕

“My whole life had been in and out of prison.”

Dennis heard about The Key Café and came in asking for a chance to work, after never really having job opportunities or a “sense of purpose “before.

Since joining the café, Dennis says:
“I am growing day by day, learning new things, changing my way of thinking and meeting people.”

Dennis is now making sandwiches and cakes, working on the till, and developing his confidence and people skills every day through meeting and speaking with customers.

At The Key Café, we believe everyone deserves a second chance, support, and opportunities to grow. We’re proud to have Dennis as part of the team. 🌱

Today marks one year since the official opening of The Key Café 🥳

Over the past 12 months, we've already made a meaningful impact, including:
- 6 individuals commencing paid employment placements, with 2 now in long-term employment
- 17 probation learners completing practical placements as part of their hospitality and barista training courses
- Fantastic feedback and a warm welcome from the local community

To everyone that has visited us, recommended us and supported us over the last 12 months, thank you! We wouldn't be able to do what we do without public support of our mission to break the cycle of reoffending 💖

We have exciting plans ahead, including interior improvements and upcoming menu changes - just watch this space!
