After a little summer hiatus, the Pipe Music Quiz is back and promises to be even more of a ruckus than before!

The first Wednesday of every month it's time to select a squad and put your knowledge of tunes to the test - everything is covered from 00s chart hits, golden oldies, underground classics and current trends.

Expect new rounds, amazing prizes and the same silliness!

£2 per person, max 6 per team and 730pm start

August is well underway and we've got some great stuff coming through, from first times to old Pipe revivals!

'The Dust Off', the old school vinyl Hip Hop night from Sip The Juice and Dj Lynx returns this week, while will be gathering the legendary Sunday funday Pipe crew for a long overdue outing on Sunday

Boss man Pato Rudland will be pairing up with Awon from Bedmo Disco next week, while also bringing back Feel The Real Soundsystem to where it all began for a bank holiday Sunday special at the end of the month!

Hodge will be down for a bit of pub fun and his first time playing at the Pipe, while HANSOLO returns for her first full solo outing! Roa A and present their first Sunday groove session with us, while Blue Marbles also make an anticipated appearance, as well as lots of other regulars completing the month!

And then the start of September sees the music quiz return - boon a table via our website!

We realised that we haven't shared the menu for Tucha's incredible Sunday roasts for a while, so here you are!

It has pretty much stayed the same over the 10+ years she has been with us, so if it ain't broken then why would it? As you can see it's got you covered for all options from topside beef to pork belly slow cooked in local c***r, garlic and rosemary rolled lamb leg, thyme lemon marinated chicken, veggie and vegan mushroom and goats cheese nut roasts and even a mixed plate of 3 meats for the big eaters and those who can't decide what to go for...

What makes them extra special and one of (if not the) best in Bristol is the preparation, love, care and consistency that goes into them every week solely by Tucha. The level of commitment and perfection of the cause is unparalleled!

It's also worth mentioning her dessert menu, with Sticky Toffee Pudding a staple and an extra special or two switched up each week...

You all know Althea. Everyone loves Althea. She is without question a bona fide Pipe legend. But not everyone knows quite how deep The Pipe runs in Althea’s veins…

Back in the summer of 2004, Mike Cranney and Joby Andrews had just opened The Pipe and Slippers. Mike has a vivid memory in those very early days of walking into the pub one afternoon and telling Joby that Lyzanne (Mike’s now-wife) was pregnant. In March 2005, Althea Smith-Cranney came into the world.

Fast forward to 2026 and Althea not only works at The Pipe, but is one of the key members of the management team. Arguably the most mature of all the managers (Pato included), wise beyond her years, undoubtedly cool as f**k, and someone whose positive energy and good vibes light up The Pipe and make it an all round better place every day. She’s also exceptionally good at her job, and continues to set the standard for the rest of us to follow and live up to.

The family vibe at The Pipe has always been one of our biggest strengths, and it continues to sustain us 22 years in. In the case of Althea she literally has The Pipe and Slippers in her blood. (Even if she does have a bit a casual relationship with actually ‘being at work’ during the summer…!😂 But she’s living her best life so we can tolerate it…😉). And in keeping with this family connection and torches being handed along the line, this summer we’ve been able to welcome Althea’s younger sister Esther into the ranks, to further keep everyone on their toes. The present and future looking bright, strong, and cool…😎

Big up Althea, big up the Smith-Cranney ladies, and big up The Pipe and Slippers family and all of you lot who make it what it is. 22 years of building and still going strong ❤️💪💪😎

As if it's basically August already! 🥵

We are in the thick of a spicy summer and keeping things hot behind the decks this weekend, while offering up refreshing beverages and AC to keep you cool amongst the heaters on the dancefloor.

Expect plenty of Disco, House, Boogie, Funk, Rare Groove, Soul, anthems, classics and oddities over the next four nights!
