FRYDAYS FISH AND CHIPS 🍟🐟
We are back with another fish and chip review ☺️
Today I travelled over to Yate, to check out Fry Days fish bar on Cranleigh Court road! This has been one of the most requested fish and chip shop reviews! 💪
I ordered a large cod, chips, jumbo battered sausage and a pot of curry sauce which came in at £16.60. (It was only £1 extra to get large cod and chips instead of medium cod and chips)
Firstly I’d like to the lady that served me in Fry Days was fantastic. Proper helpful and friendly and had a good laugh with everyone. Legend.
Right let’s get into the review. The video will be coming tomorrow but let’s tell you what I thought about it!
I asked for mine to be cooked fresh. This means you have to wait but it always tastes better I think! The portion size was massive, for £16.60 this is one of the biggest portions of food I’ve had from a chippy in a long time. The chips were really nice, mostly soft but with a few crispy ones with a lovely flavour and you can get absolutely loads of chips! The fish was lovely, a big chunky piece of cod that was cooked perfectly, the fish was flakey, moist and the battered was cooked perfectly. A fair amount of batter which was perfectly crisp. The battered sausage was alright! It was a big one, slightly crispy but not the very crispy and it tasted pretty good. Overall I’d say that battered sausage was just good. The curry sauce is an English style curry sauce, it’s very thick and has great flavour. Not to spicy, it covers the chips and battered sausage perfectly and tasted good. Not as good as the Irish style but for an English style curry sauce I thought it was very tasty & flavoursome! ☺️
Overall the meal was really nice and I felt so full. I have the rest of the chips to Jas so she was very happy. I think you get a lot for your money and I’ll definitely be recommending Fry Days to people in the future scoring a solid 8.75 out of 10 overall! ❤️
