Can you knit?

Can you crochet?

Got some spare time and some spare scraps of yarn?

Want a quick project?

Want something fun to make for a good cause?

If you’ve answered ‘YES’ to any of the above, we would love you to help us with the latest charity event.

We’ve signed up to be part of the Big Knit, run by Bristol Age UK, and we know we can count on you to help.

Please find attached a variety of different patterns to make some of these hats for the Innocent Smoothie Bottles, have fun creating, and then drop them to our collection point in the shop.

Please note: there are plenty more of these patterns online if you google ‘innocent smoothie big knit hat patterns’.

There are patterns for all abilities! You can even make up your own pattern. The more fun, the better!

Look what’s on the table in the shop today!

Our volunteers are busy creating intricate lace today.

UK lace-making dates back to the 16th century, when handmade bobbin and needle lace became popular among the wealthy. Areas like Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Honiton in Devon became famous for their skilled lace makers. During the Industrial Revolution, Nottingham became the world’s leading centre for machine-made lace, helping turn a luxury craft into a major British industry. Today, lace-making remains an important part of the UK’s textile heritage.

We are starting a new ‘how to’ series across our socials and want to know what you’d like to know how to do?

How to crochet?
How to sew up?
How to knit a button hole?
How to triple treble crochet?
How to knit?
How to thread a sewing machine?

No question is a silly question.

Send them our way and we will get them answered!

Here is the first one… how to do a UK treble crochet 🧶

We sell HUGE amounts of patterns each week, most of them being from brands such as King Cole, James C Brett, Sirdar and Stylecraft

But there is something so special when we sell one of our patterns… and even more special when we see someone actually working from it!

Yes, you read that right. OUR patterns. What do you mean? I hear you say.

Georgie has spent hours designing and creating her own patterns which are exclusive to our shop. You cannot buy them anywhere else.

They might not be as ‘professional’ as the big brands, but they sure are super cute and do the job.

Seeing this wonderful customer work from this pattern this week, certainly gave us a reason so do the happy dance 🕺

We appreciate all of your support as always!

Please keep sharing and engaging with our posts. It’s the free secret way to help support small businesses.

Thank you!
