IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Good afternoon. It is with great sadness that we must confirm Food by Howie will no longer be operating at The Roundhill.
We want to make it completely clear that this was not our decision, nor was it our choice to leave.
As many of you know, we stepped in to prevent The Roundhill from closing. From the beginning, our intention was to remain for the long term, rebuild the business and make the pub successful. This was why we reached out for public support through our 50% voucher campaign, which helped us make vital improvements to both the kitchen and the building.
Unfortunately, following a breakdown in the ongoing agreement between Food by Howie and the leaseholder, we are no longer in a position to continue operating at the pub. The decision was taken out of our hands very quickly over the weekend. The matter is now being addressed through the appropriate formal channels, so we cannot comment further at this stage.
This is not about creating a public blame game. However, it is important that our customers understand that we did not walk away from The Roundhill. We worked incredibly hard to keep it open, despite the significant financial and physical strain placed upon us. The pub was becoming busier, the atmosphere was returning, and we genuinely believed we were building something special.
We are deeply sorry for how suddenly this has happened and understand that customers may feel disappointed or angry. We feel exactly the same.
Anyone with an outstanding Food by Howie voucher balance will not be forgotten. Dee will be contacting voucher holders over the coming days so that an appropriate resolution can be arranged. Alternatively, please email [email protected] with your voucher details.
Finally, we want to thank every member of staff for their hard work, dedication and effort in helping make The Roundhill what it was.
And our biggest thank you goes to every customer who ate with us, drank with us, bought a voucher, shared a post or simply showed us support. Without you, we would not be able to do what we do.
