NOT GREAT NEWS IM AFRAID !!!
There has been lots of rumours and speculations, but it’s time to be real, So we have for the last few months, been trying to secure a new tenancy, as ours come
To and end after 25 years. But we started to have a few backtracks to what was offered. We had to get legal involved as it didn’t seem right, even when we have 1st refusal, we have tried every angle possible, to sign a new lease, but we keep hitting a wall. With no explanation. It feels like the building has already been given to someone else, that’s how it feels! & We can’t do anymore. It’s done! They won’t entertain any of our proposals, even ones that are over it’s commercial worth. It’s out of our control.. which, in my opinion! smells like an agreement has been made elsewhere, as why would you be so one sided and stum!!!! We ticked all the boxes to renew, as our contract rights, but the powers to be over ruled, with no explanation! (Like a section 21 thing) we could take this to the courts, but to what price! Estamate were 20-30k litrually they had us over a barrel…. Sad hey. Especially with no explanation! And when you fight with the local Authorities there well
Equipped if such movements. And unfortunately we don’t have the bucks to fight. Even tho we know we would win. Sad hey.
So…. YOU GUYS, we would just like to say, THANK YOU, thank you to each and every one of you for your support throughout the years, we have made some great memories right! As well
As making life long friends, it really was a community cafe for locals. We really did try to keep going, but higher forces have stopped us.
It’s a shame as this venue was loved by so many locals, but the powers to be have stopped it. We wasn’t tourist, we was a much needed cafe for locals in Brighton to meet.
But as one door closes, let’s see where the next door opens! Karma always wins, Peace and love ✌️💛🩵 breakpoint xx

V the amazing chef, we got his back, but if anyone is looking for an insperationl hard working chap, full of energy, “he does press ups in the kitchen!! But for god sake, make sure the prawns are raw! And not pink!!! He goes off at pink prawns!!!” Get in contact.
