📣 EMERGENCY DEMO SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER 📣
📍11am @ Peace Statue (Edward VII Memorial), Hove Lawns
Brighton says Yes!
Our refugee neighbours are part of our community - we will defend them!
The Home Office wants to force refugees out of our city. This month they plan to close the hotel where familes and single women seeking asylum are being housed. People will be scattered to unknown destinations including towns where refugees are being attacked by far-right racists.
These are our friends and neighbours. They feel safe here. Some of them have been here for years, have given birth to children here, become part of our community.
Brighton is antifascist and antiracist. We will push back against racist hate and the demonising of refugees.
Join the demo to show that Brighton says Yes to refugees.
And to tell the council: take action and publicly support our campaign.
“City of Sanctuary” must mean more than words.
🌟Bring your banners, music, colours, energy, friends and family. Together we can do this.🌟
