This weekend, Brighton will be filled with colour, celebration and pride—but Pride has always been about more than a parade.
It began as a fight for the right to exist, to love openly and to live without fear. While we celebrate how far we’ve come, recent events in Berlin are a reminder that there is still work to do. For many, simply being themselves still takes courage.
At The Fitz Regent, we want to be more than just somewhere to eat, drink or watch the celebrations. We want to be somewhere people feel safe. Somewhere you’re treated with dignity, respect and kindness, regardless of your sexuality, gender identity, race, faith or background.
Everyone deserves a place where they don’t have to explain who they are, hide who they love or wonder if they’ll be accepted. Here, you never have to.
This Pride weekend, we stand with the LGBTQ+ community—not just today, but every day. We celebrate your joy, honour your resilience and remember those who paved the way for the freedoms many of us enjoy today.
To everyone celebrating, to everyone marching, to those working, volunteering, or simply trying to get through the weekend feeling seen and accepted: you are welcome here. You are valued here. You belong here.
Happy Pride, Brighton. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
With love,
The Fitz Regent
