A Message From Joe:
Dear Wonderful Actors family,
At the beginning of September, I will be terminating my contract as the Manager of The Actors Pub and Theatre. We’ve had a beautifully transformative 5 years and it has been my honour to serve your communities and re-open such an institution.
I’m immensely proud of the magic The Actors has managed to create; from art and performance opportunities to safe spaces, uplifting collaborations, including twice winning the Brighton Fringe Best Venue Award, and Brighton Girl’s Pub of the Year 2025.
I have met incredible friends for life and artists whose careers I will continue to follow and support. For now I’m set to recharge, heal my body, realign my life and launch my debut music.
Thank you for all the support you have given The Actors over my tenure. Raising a renamed venue out of the pandemic had its challenges and lessons but I’m incredibly proud of the space we managed to hold. A massive thank you to the Actors family team for all your hard work and to the collaborators that have contributed over that last 5 years.
It is my pleasure to hand over the reins of the Actors to my wonderful Connie Jones (with the green hair) and the existing Actors team to host you going forward. The theatre will continue to operate in the same format. I wish you all a wonderful remainder of your summer.

We're still not over how gorgeous Trans Pride was this year! And with the EHRC guidance coming in today, we wanted to remind our beautiful abundant trans community that we've got your back. Our facilities and toilets are for everyone, and will stay that way. If you are in town and you need to find a safe loo, you're always welcome here.

We hope are all suitably recovered from the big weekender… thank you to everyone who came down to celebrate Pride with us!
Don’t forget we are (and always have been) a totally inclusive venue - come be proud with us all year round!
We’re back on a regular timetable now, with a much more chilled out week ahead… but as it’s the first of the month, we do have our regular monthly hires from Scoops Improv, Q***r as Folk singing Circle and Radio Blah Blah to look forward to!

⚽️ We will be showing Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) games by request, as much as we can, with some big watch parties coming up.
