It’s been a struggle and still very much is 24/7 hard graft but really proud of how Whitecliffs has come on in just a matter of months .
I couldn’t have done it without the support of an incredible team of staff,family and customers who have become friends!
We definitely don’t always get it perfect or correct and I have to take ultimate responsibility for when things go wrong but we’ve all been encouraged by the positive feedback we are getting from our local supporters and those who visit our amazing location from afar.
Constant compliments about our friendly staff,great music,chefs creative and stunning food, the fresh flowers, real plants,comfy wicker chairs,new beanbags to relax in,blankets,cushions,covered terraces,free doggie treats,free kiddies activities ,mini library and games shelf and of course compulsory candles and fairy lights !
I’ve personally made some disastrous business decisions and also some brilliant ones .We’ve listened to constructive criticism and suggestions from our customers and fingers crossed we’ve got the beach cafe vibe as our supporters would like it to be.Reasonable prices,
Consistent opening times ,great breakfast/brunch/lunch and evening tapas menus.
We’ve been fortunately blessed with sunny weather which has meant we’ve managed to get Whitecliffs legal compliance list up to scratch and stop this beautiful artdeco building from falling into the sea !
We’ve had the support from BHCC in a new improved alcohol licence, we now have licence to allow legal wedding ceremonies, we’ve achieved our 5 star food rating and passed various other scary inspections with flying colours.
There’s been times to plant and times to uproot.
Times to scatter stones and times to gather.
Times to embrace and times to refrain from embracing .
There’s been times of weeping and times to laugh .
Times to grieve and times to dance
Let’s face it despite the occasional muck up we always get the seaview right and it’s free !
I’d like to end my long ramble with a rather personal bit of blurb …..

Some would say I overshare but isn’t it best to be openly honest than hide behind a fake mask which I can do easily and then disintegrate behind closed doors ?
I’ve experienced some horrendous online hate and private messages that no one should have to endure . It’s so easy for keyboard warriors and anonymous accounts to air their views cowardly hiding behind their keyboards and phones.
I can hide behind my face-paint-mask ,fluffy hair with smiles, lashes and pink rouge but some online abuse has taken me to the edge of giving up .
We always address issues as a team and take on board constructive feedback but cowardly public attacks have personal consequences.
Whitecliffs Cafe is owned and run by myself as a sole individual with the help of great staff and a good accountant!
We are not part of a chain or cooperation. We’re not supported by grants or council funds ,we do not hide behind a big brand .
We have a few haters but plenty more lovers ! ❤️❤️❤️
