From Monday 13th July, we’ll be open every day from 8.30am until 10pm.

That means early coffee by the sea, long breakfasts, lazy lunches, afternoon cake, sunset cocktails, dinner with friends, or just somewhere to disappear for a while.

It's not just the sea that catches your eye.

The terrace is looking particularly lovely right now, framed by beautifully kept flower beds that are full of colour. Everything feels a little softer, a little slower, and a world away from the bustle of the city.

Find a table amongst the flowers, order something cold to drink, and let the afternoon unfold. It's one of those little corners of Brighton that makes you forget the time.

Sun on your face. The sea just a few metres away. A cocktail in hand.

A Spritz that tastes like summer. A Classic Margarita with a little kick. A Paloma as the evening rolls in. Or perhaps a chilled glass of fizz while you decide what's to eat.

There isn't any rush here. Just good drinks, sea air, and a table you'll happily stay at for a little longer.

A bottle of fizz overlooking the sea. The sun beginning to dip. Good company across the table. It doesn't get much better than that.

Then it's time for dinner, lots of dishes to try including our Grilled Argentinian prawns with smoked paprika mayonnaise to start, followed by our Chicken Supreme with red pepper and chorizo purée.

Evenings by the sea were made for this.

A little weekend update...
We're hosting a private event tomorrow, so Reading Room will be closing a little earlier than usual.

Join us for a wonderful breakfast, a leisurely brunch or a relaxed lunch before we close. Our last lunch seating will be at 1.00pm.

If you're planning a longer afternoon, our sister venue, Reading Room at Saltdean Lido, will be open as usual throughout the day.
