We heard another Toby in the game has started weighing the meat.

Rest assured, our Toby thinks scales belong in a chemistry lab, not on a carvery deck.

Come get a proper roast carved the way it’s supposed to be—generous, hot, and strictly unmeasured.

(Thanks to our Toby for modeling the anti-rationing stance.) 🥩

To ensure a safe and secure environment for our staff, customers, and the local community, we have recently installed 24/7 ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras across our car park.

Why we are making this change Over recent weeks, we have experienced a significant increase in unauthorized use of our car park outside of business hours. Unfortunately, this has included persistent anti-social behaviour, attempted break-ins, and other inappropriate activities on the premises.

Additionally, we have three on-site hotel rooms, and our overnight guests have shared that they do not feel safe returning at night due to large groups of cars gathering at the rear of the car park. To protect our property, ensure the safety and peace of mind of our overnight residents, and maintain a welcoming space for our real customers, we have had to take firm action.

Addressing Online Comments We have seen a few posts online suggesting that we have installed this system to "make money" or that it was "only done to pay for the new car park." We want to be completely transparent with you all: we do not see a single penny from these car park charges. 100% of the fines go directly to the external company that provides and manages the ANPR service. This decision was made purely for safety and security, not for profit.

What this means going forward:
Register at the Bar: To validate your parking, all legitimate customers must now input their vehicle registration into the tablets situated on the bar upon arrival.

Strictly Customers Only: Our car park and associated facilities are exclusively for legitimate customers while they are visiting the premises.

Automatic Charges: Anyone using the car park outside of our regular business hours, or parking without using our business, will now be automatically issued a parking charge. By entering the car park out of hours, you are using a customer-only facility and will be billed accordingly.

Received a charge by mistake? We want to reassure our genuine patrons that this system is here to protect the business and our guests, not to penalize you. If you are a legitimate customer and have incorrectly received a fine (for example, if you forgot to use the tablet on the bar ), please do not worry. Simply reach out to us with your proof of purchase or booking confirmation, and we will ensure the charge is cancelled immediately.

Thank you to all our wonderful customers for your understanding and for helping us keep our premises safe and secure! If you have any questions, please feel free to send us a direct message or speak to a member of the team next time you are in.
