Regular visitors Jutta and Doug from "Explore with us" stopped by today with a fantastic group of walkers. They nearly bought us out of all our tee shirts as well 😂

The nights are fair drawing in but doesn’t the b**r garden look wonderful in the evening? Almost makes me think about extending our last day to Halloween 👻 🎃 (Ewen says no...)

Not everyone walking the WHW stays with us, but everyone passes us. If you’re passing then feel free to stop in to our lovely shop. From 8am - 10am you can enjoy a breakfast roll and a hot drink; vegan, gluten-free, you name it we’ve got it. You can ‘grab & go’ or sit awhile in our cafe area - you choose. Already eaten?; bet there’s still space for a something sweet.

And don’t forget your WHW t-shirt or Inveroran hoodie!

Jocks 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 v Boks 🇿🇦update

As any avid rugby enthusiast will already know, Scotland, whilst putting up a valiant effort, got pumped...

Worst still, they also (Ewen) lost in the kitchen.

Nadia and South Africa rule... I'm sure it won't be mentioned between now and the end of the season.

Tomorrow sees the clash of the hemispheres in the Rugby Nations Championship, with Scotland taking on the mighty South Africans in Pretoria. If that wasn’t contest enough, our very own South African Nadia, will be taking on the pride of Scotland, Ewen, in a menu clash.

Nadia will be kicking off with a chakalaka boerewors beef burger with gouda and bacon, piri fries, potato salad, corn on the cob and a spur sauce. Washed down with a chilled glass of Castle l***r.

Ewen will be counterattacking with his Irn-Bru pulled pork and haggis burger with sweet cured bacon and Monterey Jack cheese, rustic chips and salad. His will be served with Irn-Bru!

Who will prevail? Who will score more servings tomorrow? There’s no penalty shoot-out in this contest, it’s winner takes all (and marital bragging rights – probably all weekend). Place your bets…

Tomorrow is Superfood Sunday! A great way to eat better and healthier, just what your body needs for your WHW adventure.

Why not try some of our Superfood Sunday Specials…

- Sweet potato, spinach & chickpea curry “Bunny Chow”

- Veggie haggis Shepherd’s Pie

- Seared salmon and pomegranate on a Mambonito salad

- Avocado open sandwich, azuki beans with oven dried tomatoes and zesty chimichurri

- Seared mackerel on a bed of spicy okra with tomato base

- and for breakfast, Vanilla and Chai porridge pot with fresh fruit

Ewen says normal service resumed on Monday with smash burgers and fries (I did try…Nx)

What a beautiful walk with the dogs this morning. We are truly blessed to live in such a stunning area of Scotland. The scenery and tranquillity are breathtaking. The estate has known a few famous inhabitants over the years (and some midges too).

Did you know we had a b**r garden? A lockdown project we completed when no-one was allowed to sample our wonderful hotel. An idyllic peaceful haven if you're staying with us, just passing by or just want to rest your weary legs for a bit. Even better you can experience our great lunch menu and perhaps a quick drink. It's the perfect spot for any of that, especially in this great weather (long may it last!). Slàinte 🍻
