Our Story
The Coffee Lounge is a family-run independent café located at Townfoot Industrial Estate, Brampton, created by mother-and-daughter team, Emma and Elizabeth Holt.
Elizabeth Holt, now 78 years young, remains at the heart of the kitchen, bringing with her a lifetime of experience in hospitality and catering. Throughout her extensive career, Elizabeth worked alongside her husband, a well known publican and business man throughout Lancashire. Together they built their reputation on traditional values: good honest food, generous portions, quality ingredients and genuine hospitality. Those Lancashire roots remain evident in every dish served today, with home-cooked meals, freshly baked cakes and seasonal produce taking centre stage.
Growing up in the family business, Emma Holt was immersed in hospitality from an early age. Whether waitressing, washing dishes or helping wherever she was needed, she learned first-hand the importance of customer service, hard work and attention to detail. Although her career later took her into the beauty, wellness and holistic therapy industry, where she established the successful Lotus Rooms, those early lessons never left her.
Today, Emma combines her passion for customer care with Elizabeth's culinary expertise to create a welcoming and unique coffee lounge experience. Their vision is simple: exceptional homemade food, freshly baked cakes and confectionery, quality coffee, friendly service and excellent value for money.
At the heart of both The Coffee Lounge and The Lotus Rooms is Emma's belief that every customer should leave feeling valued, cared for and pleased they chose to visit. From the warm welcome at the door to the last sip of coffee or bite of cake, every detail is designed with the customer experience in mind.
