Chef’s Tasting Dinner in collaboration with Tomás Gormley, Cardinal, Edinburgh – Wednesday 21st October 2026

We’re delighted to invite you to an exceptional dining experience on Wednesday 21st October, when Connor will be joined in the kitchen by guest chef Tomás Gormley to prepare a menu of wonderful seasonal dishes, showcasing their individual creativity and shared passion for local, sustainable produce.

Celebrated chef Tomás and his team opened Cardinal, Edinburgh in March 2024, presenting their elevated take on modern Scottish dining.

Don’t miss this opportunity to savour some of the finest Scottish and Northumbrian produce, conjured into mouthwatering dishes by these two masters of their craft. We are absolutely thrilled, delighted and incredibly proud to have won the Great British Pub Awards – Best Pub for Food 2026!

This is a huge honour and one that means so much to our entire team. It is wonderful recognition of the passion, hard work and dedication that goes into every plate, every service and every guest experience at The Kirkstyle.

But this award is about more than just us. It is a celebration of our wonderful rural community and a proud moment for our little pub in Slaggyford. To be recognised on a national stage is a fantastic endorsement of what can be achieved in the most remote corners of the country, and it reinforces our ambition to help put Northumberland firmly on the culinary map.

Thank you to the Great British Pub Awards team for choosing The Kirkstyle. We couldn’t be more proud, and we certainly couldn’t have done it without our incredible team, our loyal locals, our fantastic suppliers and every guest who has supported us along the way. Thank you!

Bordeaux w**e tasting - Wednesday 23rd September 2026

On the eve of Wednesday 23rd September The Kirkstyle Inn will bring the region of Bordeaux to Slaggyford. Bordeaux is widely regarded as the world’s most renowned fine w**e region. Covering around 120,000 hectares of vineyards, it is shaped by the Gironde Estuary and its two principal rivers, the Garonne and the Dordogne. The region is traditionally divided into two distinct areas: the Left Bank, home to vineyards west of the Garonne, and the Right Bank, where vineyards lie east of the Dordogne. Each bank has its own unique terroir, grape varieties and w**emaking traditions, contributing to Bordeaux’s exceptional diversity and global reputation.

The evening will feature four iconic titles from the Bordeaux region, entertainingly introduced by our General Manager, Nick Parkinson. Head Chef Connor will pair each w**e with a beautifully crafted dish, creating a memorable dining experience that celebrates the harmony between outstanding food and world-class w**e. The price per person is £85. Menu and w**e flight to follow soon!
