🔥S A D N E W S 🔥

🔥It is with a very heavy heart that we announce we are closing our coffee shop, The Phoenix.
Sadly we feel in the current climate, with the ever escalating costs, we have taken the shop as far as we can.
🔥Naturally we are devastated to come to the hardest of decisions after all of the late nights, early mornings, blood (believe me tin openers can be lethal!), sweat & tears (particulary over this last few weeks) It has been an incredible journey & one that we are very proud of, having become so fond of our shop.
🔥Last week we hosted two sold out Christmas Party nights - it was great to see the bar full, at its best & buzzing with the pre Christmas excitement. Celebrating & bringing people together was the ethos of The Phoenix & we hope we have, in some small part, achieved our aim of being "more than just another coffee shop".
🔥So many thank yous, so many people have played a huge part in the Phoenix story.
🔥To the staff that started with us on the journey & have since departed - Kay, Poppy, Megan, Olivia, Weronika & Mazy - thanks for all your hard work & dedication during your time with us. Special mention to Logan who skippered the ship on its maiden voyage & dedicated hour upon hour to building our business up.
🔥To the current staff - Damian, Niamh, Ian, Rebecca, Eva, Elle, Josh, Jess, Dexter we are so sorry that our working relationship has come to end. Thanks so much for your professionalism & understanding during the last few weeks knowing the end was in sight but working as hard as the day we opened. It really has helped make a difficult few weeks easier.
🔥To our amazing friends & family who offered us unwavering support - sorry we haven’t been able to tell you all personally. To our fantastic customers, many of whom became our friends - we couldn't have done it without you!
🔥We have enjoyed taking our place in the local community & last week we were a nominee for the best Essex small food & drink business. Our second award nomination in a short space of time.
🔥Thanks to all of our suppliers, in particular Beaumonts the butchers who supplied all of our meat to an exceptional standard. Please continue to support Beaumonts & all small businesses in & around the town - it really does make a huge difference.

🔥We are open as normal until 23rd December.
Then 10-2 on 27th,28th & 29th.
Saturday the 30th December will be our last day as a coffee shop, opening 8.30 - 3pm.
🔥The bar will be open Friday 22nd December from 6 - 11.30 & the same hours Saturday 23rd December when we host our Christmas Eve Eve party with music from Alex Outlaw!
🔥The bar will be open 29th & 30th December normal hours. We also hope to open Fridays & Saturdays in January so please keep an eye on our social channels.
🔥It would be great if you can pop in for a coffee (or cocktail) during the next couple of weeks. Staff & owners would like to say thank you & goodbye to as many customers as possible.
🔥Anyone with private bookings we will be in touch this week to discuss.
🔥So for now the Phoenix flame has flickered out but who knows what the future may hold.....
