Not a very happy Saturday today, unfortunately.
A huge thank you to the member of the public who notified us of this at 7am this morning after witnessing it happen.
To say we’re fed up would be an understatement.
We’re constantly trying to improve our beer garden and make it a nice place for our customers, families, and the wider community to enjoy. Last year it was our plants. This year it’s our banners.
What makes it even worse is that it isn’t just our property that’s been targeted. A local school’s banner has been ripped down too. These things cost money. Money that local businesses and community groups shouldn’t have to keep spending because of the selfish actions of one person.
And yes, it’s the same person again.
We are still waiting for the damage caused to our plants last year to be put right, and now we’re dealing with this. At what point does enough become enough?
We love Baildon. We love our pub. We love our customers. We take pride in what we do and work hard to make this a welcoming place for everyone. It’s incredibly disheartening to keep seeing our efforts destroyed by someone who clearly has no respect for local businesses, local schools, or the community they live in.
We’re angry, we’re frustrated, and quite honestly, we’re tired of it.
One person may think this is harmless fun, but it’s local businesses and community groups that are left to pick up the bill every single time.
A little respect costs nothing. Replacing damaged property does.
