We have an opportunity for a temporary café team member who is friendly and committed to great customer service and hospitality. It is also important to be able to thrive in a busy environment and are proactive.
Previous café experience is not necessary however, a strong ability & keen attitude to learn hospitality and coffee making will be considered.
The job is mainly daytime based however, there may be an occasional evening due to special events. Minimum of 8 hours a week.
Temporary role until September 2026.
Must be available during August over Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & have weekend availability (specific working days will be arranged via a shift rota).
Main Duties:
To provide efficient and friendly front of house service.
Working in a team.
Serving orders.
Clearing tables.
Washing up.
Maintaining high standards of hygiene.
Following café policies and procedures e.g. allergy policy, food hygiene policy, alcohol policy.
Maintaining a clean and tidy work station.
Cleaning the café and outside area and completion of paperwork records related to this.
Checking stock levels.
Working effectively in a busy environment & maintaining a consistent high standard.
Progression can include the option to prepare hot and cold drinks to a high consistent standard, including the use of the Barista coffee machine.
Liaising with customers regarding their enquiries and appropriate direction of these (e.g. to the Front of House Manager).
Cleaning the coffee machine at the end of the day & following guidance on how to complete this.
Following instruction from the Front of House Manager regarding priorities.
Undertake appropriate training relevant to the role.
